Job Summary:
We are looking for a talented Controls Engineer to join our team in Rocky Mount, NC (RMEP). You will contribute to the development, implementation, and support of PLC-based control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes. Working cross-functionally, you will troubleshoot controls, electrical, and sensor issues, support stable operations, and help deliver safe, high-quality, and continuously improving production performance. FANUC programming exposure is a plus.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Configure, program, and support PLC-based machine controls on production equipment.
- Troubleshoot controls/electrical/sensor issues to restore production quickly and safely.
- Assist in designing and updating electrical control schematics and documentation.
- Execute improvement actions that enhance quality, stability, and uptime.
- Apply change control and maintain accurate revision history for control logic.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality to align solutions to plant goals.
- Support equipment startups, upgrades, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Contribute to safety risk assessments and implement control safeguards/interlocks.
- Strong knowledge of controls engineering principles, including PLC programming, electrical control systems, automation technologies, and manufacturing processes. Fanuc robot programming experience is a plus
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex controls, electrical, sensor, and automation issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence diverse stakeholders.
