You’ll join the global Communications & Experiential Events team within Lenovo’s Intelligent Devices Group (IDG)—our largest business group, spanning PCs, tablets, workstations, AI devices, AI software, and related solutions across consumer and B2B audiences.
We’re a lean, high-performing team that moves quickly, thinks globally, and works together closely. We take the work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. One week you may be shaping the strategy for a global product launch; the next, solving an onsite challenge with partners and production teams in real time. You’ll have meaningful ownership, visibility with senior leaders, and the opportunity to help raise the bar for how one of the world’s largest technology companies shows up externally.
Reporting to the Global Events Director, this role will lead and support high-impact external experiences—from flagship Lenovo launches and major global tech moments to industry trade shows, partner activations, executive engagements, and more. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across North America; Asia Pacific and China; Europe; Middle East, Turkey, and Africa; and Latin America, with domestic and international travel required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead complex global events end-to-end — from strategy, concept and audience journey through detailed planning, production, onsite execution, and post-event evaluation
- Translate business, marketing and communications priorities into compelling experiential strategies that build Lenovo’s brand, showcase innovation, deepen stakeholder engagement, and support business growth
- Build and manage rigorous milestone-based workback plans covering deliverables, dependencies, owners, approvals, rehearsals, risks, budgets, and critical decision points — and keep teams moving when plans change quickly
- Partner across IDG product and marketing teams, communications/PR, geographies, sales, executives, and other Lenovo corporate and business groups to create a cohesive story and experience across audiences and touchpoints
- Manage agencies, production partners, venues, tech providers, and strategic partners with confidence — setting clear expectations, challenging constructively, and protecting Lenovo’s interests, brand standards, timelines, and quality
- Develop and manage significant event budgets, contracts, purchase commitments/POs and invoices; negotiate effectively and make smart tradeoffs that maximize impact without compromising the experience
- Create clear, persuasive executive updates and recommendations (often in PowerPoint) that distill complex plans, surface decisions and risks, and build alignment with senior stakeholders
- Use data to define success before an event and evaluate it afterward, connecting audience engagement, communications performance, business outcomes, and lessons learned to future strategy
- Explore new technologies, including generative AI, automation, and emerging event tools, to improve planning, collaboration, attendee experience, reporting, and operational efficiency
- Own the details onsite; stay calm under pressure, solve problems quickly, coordinate teams and vendors, and do what it takes to deliver a polished experience when the doors open
What Makes Someone Great in This Role:
- Strategic thinker + practical doer: You can connect an event to the bigger business story, and you’re equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves to make it happen.
- Exceptional project leader: You bring structure to complexity, anticipate dependencies, manage multiple workstreams at once, and hold yourself and others accountable to deadlines.
- Sound judgment under pressure: You can make prudent decisions with incomplete information, course-correct quickly, and operate independently rather than relying on an agency to lead the work for you.
- Strong communicator and influencer: You write and present clearly, build persuasive decks, and can align stakeholders across functions, seniority levels, cultures and time zones without direct authority.
- Creative with a high bar: You challenge the status quo, bring fresh ideas and have a sharp eye for storytelling, brand experience, production quality, and the details guests actually notice.
- Commercially-minded: You understand that memorable events must also deliver measurable value, and you make disciplined choices around scope, resources and investment.
- Tech-curious and AI-forward: You’re comfortable experimenting with modern productivity, event, and AI tools and can identify practical ways tech can make the team faster and the experience better.
- Collaborative and low ego: You’re generous with teammates, respectful across cultures, comfortable giving and receiving candid feedback, and bring positive energy when the pace gets intense.
- Flexible and globally-minded: You’re willing to travel domestically and internationally and occasionally work outside standard hours to support global programs.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in global events, experiential marketing, integrated marketing, event production, or a closely related discipline, on the brand and/or agency side
- Demonstrated track record leading large-scale, highly visible events from strategy through execution and measurement; technology-industry experience a plus
- Demonstrated ability to apply marketing and product knowledge to promote events through strategic product placement, compelling website and event content, and creative experiential ideas that engage target audiences and bring Lenovo innovation to life
- Proven experience working in a global, matrixed organization and coordinating multiple functions, markets, agencies, partners and senior stakeholders
- Strong budget and financial-management experience, including forecasting, contracts, purchase commitments/POs, invoices, reconciliation and cost control
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong PowerPoint storytelling and executive-presentation capabilities
- Hands-on familiarity with event/project-management platforms, budgeting tools, digital event tech and modern generative-AI/productivity tools
- Experience creating or configuring basic AI agents or automated workflows for practical business use cases a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Event Management, or a related field preferred
Basic Requirements:
- 5+ years events, technology, product, and/or project management experience
