Mechanical Design Technician

What You Will Do

- Execute 3D parametric models, modifications, packaging studies, and 2D production drawings.Defines overall part design, mechanical concepts, and primary component sizing
- Apply plastic molding and Valeo design rules (draft angles, wall thickness, parting lines) provided by checklists/guidelines
- Negotiate tooling feasibility with tooling engineers and suppliers; promotes standardizations
- Run clearance/interference checks and standard section cuts
- Own structural/thermal simulations (FEA), worst-case tolerance stacks, and design sign-offs
- Manage file check-in/check-out, PDM/PLM lifecycle states, and BOM accuracy
- Validate release readiness, baseline milestones, and customer engineering change requests (ECR)

What You Should Have

- Associate's Degree in a technical field is preferred, but experience in lieu of education will be considered
- Catia design experience preferred, but other design software experience will be considered
