About this role
Software Development Technical Planner
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Software Development Technical Planner to orchestrate and streamline our software delivery lifecycle. In this critical role, you will bridge the gap between engineering execution, program management, and technical delivery. You will be primarily responsible for formulating, maintaining, and managing comprehensive software build plans, end-to-end integrated master schedules (IMS), and release tracks. Working directly with software architects, development leads, QA, and configuration management, you will anticipate dependencies, mitigate delivery bottlenecks, and ensure complex software deliverables ship reliably and on time.
Architect, baseline, and maintain comprehensive software build plans and integration schedules across multiple product teams and release trains. Define and sequence critical path activities from code commit, static analysis, and automated test passes through staging, security audits, and production deployment. Coordinate build cadence, branching strategies, and merge schedules in close collaboration with DevOps and Configuration Management teams. Align build milestones with target hardware integration, third-party software drops, and customer integration schedules. Build and manage Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) utilizing industry-standard scheduling and project management methodologies. Track schedule progress against performance baselines. Analyze critical paths, variance, floats, and schedule health metrics. Facilitate regular technical syncs, scrum-of-scrums, and build review forums to ensure operational alignment across disparate development modules. Synthesize raw engineering progress into clear, data-driven executive dashboards and schedule health status reports. Identify, map, and proactively track complex technical cross-team dependencies, technical debt bottlenecks, and deliverables. Conduct regular technical risk and opportunity assessments. Formulate proactive mitigation playbooks to prevent schedule slippage. Lead schedule impact assessments and root cause analyses when change requests, scope adjustments, or critical blocking bugs arise. Collaborate with Product Managers, Technical Leads, Systems Engineers, and QA Leads to translate system requirements into granular engineering work breakdown structures (WBS). Drive continuous improvement by establishing post-release retrospectives, refining scheduling models, and optimizing technical planning workflows.
Join us. The world can’t wait.
