Selrico Services Inc. is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team at the Juvenile Detention Center in San Antonio, TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious and balanced meals that meet dietary needs, adhering to food safety standards, and supporting the overall well-being of detained youth. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Monitor inventory and notify supervisors when supplies need replenishment.
- Work collaboratively with detention center staff to meet meal scheduling and special dietary requirements.
- Assist in meal planning and food preparation as needed.
Requirements
- Previous cooking or food service experience preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work in a structured and secure environment.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods as needed.
- Must pass an extensive background check.
