About this role
Mō te tūranga | About the role
If you know how to turn training strategy into real capability on the ground, this one’s worth a look.
We’re looking for an HSQE Training Manager to lead our regional training function and help build a safer, sharper, more capable workforce. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong technical edge. You’ll drive HSQE training planning, oversee competency and compliance records, support operational teams, and make sure our training approach is practical, aligned, and fit for purpose. You’ll also work closely with our national HSQE team to keep things connected and moving forward.
This role suits someone who can think strategically, lead people well, and still stay close to the detail. Good Work here means high expectations, low ego, and a real chance to shape how capability is built across the region.

- Lead the regional HSQE training function, including planning, scheduling, coordination, and delivery of training activity.
- Manage the HSQE training team, including support for direct reports and day-to-day operational leadership.
- Oversee competency, licensing, training needs analysis, and training records through the Personal Development Plan (PDP) system and related processes.
- Partner with operational leaders and managers to identify capability gaps and build practical learning solutions that support performance and compliance.
- Connect regional delivery with national HSQE priorities, while driving continuous improvement across training systems, standards, and outcomes.

- Confident communication, stakeholder engagement, and facilitation skills, with a practical and delivery-focused approach.
- Strong systems capability, including Microsoft Office, training or competency platforms, and ideally experience with PDP or a similar system, plus a full driver licence.
