About this role

Why us

Aignostics is a spin-off from one of Europe’s largest and most prestigious university hospitals (Charité), with employees in Berlin and New York. We have received over €50M in funding from leading investors and are a growing team of over 80 interdisciplinary professionals. We work with leading global life sciences companies as well as academic partners.

We believe that AI has the potential to revolutionize how cancer and other complex diseases are diagnosed and treated. Without access to high quality data and a scientifically rigorous, transparent approach to model development, AI is just a buzzword. That’s where we come in.

The role

You'll be the main contact for our employees and managers on everything across the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding. Your work will keep our people operations running smoothly and support a culture where employees can do their best work.

This is a chance to own day-to-day People operations at a mission-driven scale-up, contribute to ongoing projects and help shape how we grow as an organization. The right candidate brings sound judgment, discretion, a collaborative mindset and the ability to turn complex people topics into clear, practical solutions.

What you will do

- Own the employee lifecycle: Manage onboarding, contract changes, leaves, and offboarding, making sure every employee has a smooth, well-organized experience.
- Run people operations: Draft employment contracts, amendments and reference letters, maintain accurate employee data in our HRIS, and prepare monthly payroll inputs with our external payroll provider.
- Advise employees and managers: Be the first point of contact for questions on policies, working time, leave, benefits and employee relations, and give pragmatic advice grounded in German labor law.
- Drive people programs: Help run performance and feedback cycles, engagement initiatives and team events that strengthen our culture.
- Improve processes: Find ways to make our policies, tools and workflows simpler and more scalable and help put them into practice.
- Contribute to team success: Share knowledge, support teammates and help create a positive, inclusive and high-performing work environment.

What we are looking for

- Relevant experience: You have 3+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar role, ideally at a startup or scale-up.
- HR expertise: You have solid working knowledge of German labor law, employment contracts and payroll preparation. Experience with HRIS tools such as Personio is a plus.
- Ownership and judgment: You handle confidential matters with discretion, get up to speed quickly and work independently when things are ambiguous or changing.
- Communication and collaboration: You build trust quickly with people across teams, backgrounds and levels of seniority.
- Organized and results-oriented: You juggle competing priorities, meet deadlines and keep your standards high.
- Languages: You are fluent in English and German (C1 or higher).
- Nice to have experience in recruitment and people partnering.

Our offer

- Competitive remuneration, 30 vacation days, flexible hours and remote work
- €1,000 annual L&D budget (+ 2 L&D days), language classes, mentoring program
- Family & pet friendly with flexible parental leave
- Subsidized transport/sports/wellbeing membership and social events
- Optional pension scheme
