About this role

About Capalo AI

At Capalo AI, we are accelerating the green energy transition by maximizing the value of large-scale energy storage systems through artificial intelligence and optimization. Our platform, Capalo Zeus VPP™, operates battery energy storage systems as a virtual power plant, helping asset owners generate higher revenues while supporting a more resilient and sustainable energy grid.

The role

Capalo AI is expanding into new electricity markets in Europe and beyond, and every entry depends on one thing: getting permission to operate and turning it into a working business. As a GTM Operations Associate, you will own market access for the countries assigned to you. You will secure the licences, registrations and agreements that let Capalo AI trade, build the fact base behind entry decisions, and coordinate the teams that need to be ready for the first trade. You will join our Go-to-Market team, which works across strategy and execution.

What you'll do

- Own market access for your countries: secure trading licences, TSO agreements, BRP and BSP roles and power exchange memberships, together with external legal counsel
- Map how each new market differs from Capalo AI’s existing markets in regulation, ancillary services and collateral requirements
- Build the fact base behind go/no-go decisions, from BESS pipeline and price volatility to competition and time to market access
- Coordinate launch readiness across Product, Trading, Finance and Customer Onboarding, with clear owners and timelines
- Deliver the first operational milestones in each market with our Onboarding and Prequalification team, such as the first BRP transfer and asset prequalification
- Keep the GTM Playbook up to date, so that every market entry makes the next one faster

What you'll bring

Must-haves

- A technical degree in physics, mathematics, electrical or power engineering, energy, automation or a similar field
- Knowledge of how electricity markets are structured and how they work, or an understanding of the common European framework for electricity markets
- A structured, analytical way of working: you can take an unfamiliar regulatory framework, break it into the questions that matter and turn the answers into a plan
- Able to work independently as well as part of an international team, with excellent written and spoken English

Nice-to-haves

- Experience from renewable energy project development, battery storage, energy trading, a TSO, a regulator or an energy consultancy
- Experience with licensing, registration or prequalification processes towards regulators, TSOs or power exchanges
- Comfortable using AI tools in daily work, for example to research regulation, analyse markets and draft documents

Why Capalo

- Work on technology that is accelerating the transition to renewable energy
- Join a fast-growing company at the intersection of AI and energy markets
- Work with a highly collaborative and mission-driven team
- Open new markets: your work decides how fast Capalo AI can start trading in a new country
- Broad exposure early in your career, working with regulators, TSOs, legal counsel and every team inside Capalo AI
