Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist Job Description
The Accounts Receivable Specialist processes and reconciles accounts receivable and remittances, ensuring accurate financial records and timely cash application. This role supports a high-volume corporate environment by maintaining current customer balances, resolving payment discrepancies, and providing clear financial reporting while fostering positive customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Process and reconcile accounts receivable and remittances with accuracy and timeliness.
- Review all remittances from customers and match payments to the appropriate invoices.
- Create regular reports to accurately track and summarize financial information.
- Perform audits of the general ledger and related company financial documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Apply cash receipts to customer accounts to maintain and increase the percentage of current balances.
- Ensure timely payments from customers while maintaining positive and professional customer relations.
- Initiate customer inquiries to resolve claims, credit memos, deductions, and short payments.
- Adjust customer account balances to reconcile and clear account discrepancies.
- Maintain awareness of adverse or declining payment trends with assigned customers and escalate issues as needed.
- Monitor the team inbox and respond promptly to internal and external customer inquiries.
Essential Skills
- 3+ years of accounts receivable, collections, or cash applications experience.
- Hands-on experience with JD Edwards and/or Oracle financial systems.
- Proficiency in reconciliation and accounts receivable processes.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with accounting or ERP systems, particularly JD Edwards and Oracle.
- Background in accounting or finance-related roles.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze payment trends and identify potential issues.
- Proven track record of maintaining positive customer relationships while resolving payment discrepancies.
Work Environment
The role is based onsite in a corporate office environment. The specialist works with financial systems such as JD Edwards and Oracle, along with Microsoft Excel and other standard office productivity tools. The position operates in a fast-paced setting that requires responsiveness to a shared team inbox and regular interaction with internal stakeholders and external customers. The work involves standard office hours, with expectations for professionalism in conduct and attire consistent with a corporate office setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
