About this role

Bring your expertise to JPMorgan Chase. As part of Risk Management and Compliance, you are at the center of keeping JPMorgan Chase strong and resilient. You help the firm grow its business in a responsible way by anticipating new and emerging risks, and using your expert judgement to solve real-world challenges that impact our company, customers and communities. Our culture in Risk Management and Compliance is all about thinking outside the box, challenging the status quo and striving to be best-in-class.

As an Executive Director in the Firmwide Risk Identification team, you will be a senior member of the team working at the intersection of risk identification, scenario design and capital stress testing, driving regulatory and business deliverables. You will partner across lines of business and corporate functions, bringing structure to ambiguity, balancing technical execution with clear communication, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through when priorities compete.

You will work with senior stakeholders across Risk Management and Finance as a peer on risk identification-related matters, drive strategic initiatives for the team and shape the team’s technology strategies (for example, automation or AI/LLM) where they add clear value.

Candidates most likely to succeed will have a demonstrated long-term interest in enterprise risk management, strong framework-oriented thinking, comfort with ambiguity and people leadership experience. This is not a program manager or quantitative modeling role. The ideal candidate will be a “horizontal” thinker grounded in financial services, with experience across a range of risk topics through prior management consulting and/or industry roles.

Job Responsibilities

- Own and execute strategic initiatives related to maintaining the quality and usability of the Firm’s Risk Identification framework. Examples include: review of the risk materiality framework, streamlining processes related to use of the framework by others such as for scenario design, conceptualizing and leading AI/LLM initiatives that help extract value from the Material Risk Inventory and related information.
- Own and execute regulatory capital stress testing deliverables and timelines, ensuring readiness for internal governance and external submission. Examples include: supporting scenario-related content development, across partners and producing high-quality outputs that directly support the firm’s regulatory submission package, with clear documentation and auditability.
- Maintain process governance, including procedures, controls, evidence, and change tracking to support credible, repeatable execution. Examples include: supporting updates of key governance documents, helping keeping internal tracking capabilities fit-for-purpose and interacting with Audit and external regulatory stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, including standardization, simplification, and stronger quality checks. Examples include: Exploring and executing on opportunities to address bureaucratic blind-spots in our processes, streamlining controls landscape and leveraging AI/LLM capabilities to refine our day-to-day tasks.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to tailor messages for senior stakeholders, regulators and cross-functional audiences.
- Strong partnership skills, including influencing without authority and building alignment across teams with different priorities.
- Sound judgment and demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguity, manage conflict, and drive alignment across multiple functions and senior stakeholders
- Strong quality orientation and attention to detail, balanced with the ability to prioritize under time constraints.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience (8+ years at a minimum)
- 8+ years of experience in risk management, finance, treasury, stress testing, or closely related disciplines within a large financial institution

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

- Experience with risk identification and scenario design in a financial services setting
- Prior people leadership experience including matrixed reports (e.g., cross-functional project teams)
- Experience partnering with technology teams on automation, workflow tooling, or artificial intelligence use cases in a controlled environment.
- Advanced degree or relevant professional certifications.
