- Develop detailed variance analyses and financial bridges that clearly explain changes in earnings, capital, and other key performance indicators.
- Partner with Accounting and Actuarial teams during the quarterly close to validate results, investigate significant variances, and develop management commentary.
- Translate results into a clear financial narrative, preparing the commentary, exhibits and materials used with internal and senior stakeholders.
- Collate large datasets into meaningful outputs to support analysis and exhibits.
- Produce derivative and FX analysis across Athene’s Bermuda legal entities under the Bermuda Statutory and US GAAP frameworks and explain the drivers to finance and non-finance audiences.
- Support the evaluation of the financial impact of new strategic opportunities and new products on Athene’s Bermuda legal entities.
- Respond to management questions and ad hoc requests by providing timely, accurate, and decision-useful analysis.
- Recommend improvements to reporting processes, analytical tools, data quality, and controls to increase efficiency and transparency.
- Manage, develop, and mentor FP&A team members, as applicable.

What You Need to Bring:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics or related fields with a professional accounting or actuarial qualification.
- Five plus (5+) years insurance/reinsurance or financial industry experience, including accounting for life and annuity products under US GAAP, Bermuda Statutory or EBS frameworks.
- CFA designation, or progress towards completion, desirable.
- Experience with derivatives and FX would be advantageous.
- Financial modeling experience is desirable.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ambition to develop as a financial storyteller.
- Able to establish effective cross-functional working relationships at all levels.
