Machinist - Swing Shift - 1pm - 9:30pm

IMG, an Ichor Company, is looking for a temporary Machinist for the Altair location in Fremont, CA. This Machinist role is responsible for set up and operation of a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Includes precision instrument set up and operate CNC Lathes and Turn Mills. Knowledge of operating manual Lathe and Manual Mill.

Shift M-F Swing shift 1:00pm - 9:30pm.

Duties/Responsibilities

- Able to handle products of a more complex nature such as already brazed parts requiring in-process machining or final machining.
- Set up and operate CNC lathes and Turn Mills.
- Use inspection tools to monitor dimensional accuracy.
- Monitor tooling and replace when necessary.
- Fits, aligns, and adjusts machines or assemblies to meet tolerances and product operating requirements.
- Knowledge on operating manual Lathe and Manual Mill
- Deburr and polish machined components.

Job Skills

Familiar with CNC lathes with Fanuc control, Mori Seiki, Nakamura, Mazak. B-axis turn mills and/or Lathes with live tooling.

- Must have strong knowledge of G and M codes.
- Must be knowledgeable with GD&T.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and work well with others.
- Must be organized and accurate with documentation.
- Must work safely and observing all PPE requirements.

Desired Education/Experience:

- High school diploma, vocational training or equivalent qualification required.
- Knowledge of machining processes and problem-solving skills to ensure strict quality and cosmetic standards.
- Requires production experience, basic reading, writing and shop math skills.
- Minimum of 2-3+ years related experience in machinist roles.

Work Environment

- Manufacturing environment setting has some exposure to noise, dust, coolants, and temperature variations.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work performed in accordance with AS9100, ISO9001:2015, NADCAP requirements (as appliable), and company quality standards

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand movements and operate machine controls.
- Ability to visually inspect parts and read precision measuring instruments.

The hourly rate for this temporary full-time position is $25.91 to 44.04 hourly, non-exempt.
