Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our Managed Services team. This is a hands-on technical role responsible for supporting client environments, implementing infrastructure projects, troubleshooting complex issues, and designing and deploying on-premises and cloud solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Citrix, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, VMware/Hyper-V, Azure, and AWS , along with the ability to build and troubleshoot server and infrastructure environments from the ground up.

This position will be based out of our Hicksville, NY office , with travel to client locations as required to support projects, implementations, escalations, and other onsite needs.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide senior-level technical support for client infrastructure environments.
- Design, build, configure, migrate, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments.
- Deploy and maintain physical and virtual servers, including server builds, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning.
- Support and administer Citrix environments, including Virtual Apps and Desktops, StoreFront, Delivery Controllers, and related infrastructure.
- Manage virtualization technologies including VMware vSphere/ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V .
- Implement and support cloud infrastructure within Microsoft Azure and AWS .
- Support hybrid environments spanning on-premises infrastructure and public cloud platforms.
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 .
- Troubleshoot complex server, application, authentication, network, storage, and performance issues.
- Perform infrastructure migrations, upgrades, and modernization projects.
- Support backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and infrastructure resiliency solutions.
- Provide escalation support for Help Desk and other engineering teams.
- Participate in client-facing technical meetings and provide recommendations regarding infrastructure improvements.
- Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, diagrams, procedures, and configuration information.
- Work independently on assigned client projects while coordinating with project managers and other technical resources.
- Travel to client locations throughout the region for onsite support and project work as required.
- Participate in scheduled after-hours project work and escalation support when required.

Required Qualifications

- 7+ years of hands-on systems administration or infrastructure engineering experience.
- Advanced experience with Windows Server administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and server builds.
- Strong experience administering Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP .
- Strong hands-on experience supporting Citrix environments.
- Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi and/or Hyper-V .
- Experience supporting and deploying workloads within Microsoft Azure .
- Experience with AWS infrastructure and services .
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID .
- Experience with server and infrastructure migrations.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, VPNs, firewalls, storage, and general networking concepts.
- Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues across multiple technologies.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a managed services environment.
- Ability to work from the Hicksville office and travel to client locations as required .

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working for an MSP or IT consulting organization .
- Experience supporting multi-client environments.
- Citrix certifications or significant equivalent hands-on experience.
- Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-104 or AZ-305 .
- AWS certifications.
- Microsoft 365 and hybrid identity experience.
- PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation experience.
- Experience with enterprise backup, storage, monitoring, and disaster recovery platforms.
- Experience with RMM, PSA, and remote management platforms.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is more than an administrator. The right candidate is a senior-level engineer who can take ownership of an issue or project, work directly with clients, troubleshoot complex environments, and drive technical work through completion .

This individual should be equally comfortable building a new server environment, troubleshooting a Citrix issue, performing an Azure migration, supporting an onsite client project, or serving as the senior escalation point for a difficult infrastructure problem.
