Where You Will Work:

The Invasive Cardiology Prep/Recovery team supports a high-acuity cardiovascular service line at Advocate Health's flagship Charlotte campus. Our department provides pre-procedure and post-procedure care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac, electrophysiology, structural heart, heart failure, and vascular procedures across eight procedural suites.

As the region's tertiary referral center, we care for some of the most complex cardiovascular patients in the Charlotte market. Patient populations include inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular patients requiring advanced procedural interventions, including coronary and peripheral interventions, electrophysiology procedures, structural heart therapies, heart failure treatments, and mechanical circulatory support therapies.

This is a fast-paced, team-based environment where nurses utilize critical thinking, advanced assessment skills, and collaborative care practices to safely prepare patients for procedures and provide recovery care following moderate sedation, anesthesia, and complex cardiovascular interventions. Our team nursing model promotes strong collaboration among nurses, physicians, advanced practice providers, anesthesia professionals, and procedural staff to deliver exceptional patient care and outcomes.

Team members are expected to thrive in a dynamic setting where patient acuity, volume, and procedural complexity require flexibility, efficiency, and a commitment to clinical excellence.

Expectations We’re Looking For:

- Ability to perform multiple roles within the EP Lab, including recording, circulating, and scrubbing procedures.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias, rhythm interpretation, and treatment modalities.
- 1–2 years of ICU, cardiac, Emergency Department, or other relevant acute-care experience preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly specialized procedural environment while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety
- Graduate of an accredited or approved nursing program.

- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices

- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (can be obtained upon hire)
- Minimum of two years of registered nursing experience preferred.
- Critical care experience strongly preferred, including Emergency Department (ED), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), or other high-acuity inpatient settings.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and manage patients with complex cardiovascular conditions.
- Strong communication, prioritization, and teamwork skills in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing patient needs while maintaining a high level of patient safety and customer service.

What You’ll Do:

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
