Sr. Product Operations Manager I, VR International
Our Mission is to Protect Life
We are out to make the world a safer place by solving big problems and tackling the toughest challenges in public safety. From Axon's inception building the TASER device to today's ecosystem of connected hardware and software, our focus is helping officers and agencies serve their communities with confidence, safety, and integrity. Our moonshot is bold: reduce gun-related deaths between police and the public by 50% in 10 years.
Virtual Reality training is a key part of that mission, enabling officers to practice de-escalation, empathy, and tactical decision-making in immersive, realistic environments. Agencies around the world are asking for it, and Axon is now scaling its VR training platform into new international markets, with launches underway or planned across Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific.
Your Impact
International expansion for Axon VR is picking up momentum and has significant potential, and we are only starting to scratch the surface. As we grow and scale, we are discovering what it takes to deploy VR training in each new market, and how needs differ by culture, region, and language. What made us successful in the US and Canada does not translate one-for-one, and every region, including EMEA, LATAM, and APAC, has its own needs.
As the Sr. Product Operations Manager I for VR International, you will be the key operational partner to the in-market International VR GTM Lead, who leads international strategy, pricing, and new market prioritization. Together, you will build the operational foundation that lets us expand with confidence. That means putting the right structure and processes in place so each market has what it needs, including localized content, quotes and price books that work, inventory in local warehouses, trained teams, Trial and Evaluation (T&E) kits, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). This is a role with room to grow and scale as the business does.
In line with the defined strategy, you will help define the foundation, put it to work in each new market, and refine it as we learn. You will work with international teams, distribution partners, and US-based teams, including Sales, Sales Engineering, Professional Services and Training, Supply Chain, Marketing, Proposals, Legal, Compliance, and Hardware Product Management.
Your work will turn international VR from a series of one-off launches into a repeatable, scalable motion that helps bring Axon's mission to agencies around the world.
What You'll Do
Reports To: Sr Director, VR Hardware & Operations
Direct Reports: None, individual contributor role
Work Location: This role is based out of our Boston, MA office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation. Boston provides meaningful morning overlap with European and international partners and afternoon overlap with our West Coast-based VR team members.
- Define and maintain the international operations playbook, SOPs, and launch checklists, adapting what works in the US and Canada to each region and building on Business Operations' framework. Update them with what each market teaches us.
- Run the day-to-day operations of international launches in line with the International VR GTM Lead's priorities, making sure pre-sales teams, post-sales teams, and hardware delivery are ready to sell and serve in each market. Coordinate the compliance and certification work each country requires with Legal and Compliance, and share status and risks to support launch decisions.
- Help define, implement, and scale the international T&E program, which is still taking shape, partnering with in-market trial managers and Product Operations. Use the kits Hardware Product Management defines, and apply regional feedback to keep improving the program.
- Enable international Professional Services and Training teams as the product evolves, and support our partner strategy as we enter new markets. Provide Professional Services, Training, and distribution partners with the training and resources they need to succeed in their regions.
- Support the process for localizing help content with localization vendors, in line with international market prioritization. Help review how this works today, including who owns each step, and document the resulting process end to end while building a plan on how to make this more scalable in the future.
- Own the review and management of international quotes to confirm we only sell where we are cleared to, quotes are complete, and customers are set up for success. Work with Business Operations on region-specific SKUs and price books.
- Support Proposals on international tenders, and partner with Supply Chain and Regional Operations on demand, inventory in local warehouses, regional priorities when hardware supply is tight, and country-specific logistics and import requirements, including T&E kit delivery.
- Travel domestically and internationally as needed, approximately 1 to 2 weeks per quarter, to support markets, partners, and the team.
What You’ll Bring
- 6+ years of experience in product operations, program management, or international product launches. A bachelor's degree in business, operations, or a related field is preferred, and equivalent work experience is welcome.
- Experience supporting product launches in international markets, ideally across more than one region.
- Strong program management skills, including managing dependencies, milestones, and risks across teams such as Sales, Supply Chain, Legal, and Training, and communicating status clearly to all levels, including leadership.
- Experience building or improving repeatable processes that other teams rely on, with comfort working through ambiguity and adjusting as you learn from each market.
- Familiarity with how sales operations and commercial systems work, and experience using data to track operational performance and recommend improvements.
- Comfort working independently with teams across regions and time zones, including occasional early-morning or late-evening calls with international partners.
- A second language is a plus. Professional proficiency in a language that supports our international markets can strengthen your relationships with customers and partners around the world.
