We’re looking for a compassionate, motivated, and people-oriented Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist to join our Martinsburg, WV team. In this role, you’ll help individuals explore career opportunities, connect with employers, and take meaningful steps toward a more independent future.
You don’t need to have experience in every aspect of vocational rehabilitation to make a difference. If you have relevant work or life experience supporting individuals with disabilities, strong communication skills, and a genuine desire to help others succeed, we encourage you to apply!
What You'll Do
- Empower individuals: Help participants identify their strengths, interests, skills, and career goals.
- Support career development: Assist with resumes, job applications, interview preparation, and job readiness.
- Connect people with opportunities: Identify job openings and match participants with employers that align with their abilities and interests.
- Build employer relationships: Develop connections with local businesses and promote inclusive hiring practices.
- Provide ongoing support: Offer job coaching, onboarding assistance, and follow-up to help individuals succeed and remain employed.
- Encourage independence: Help participants build confidence, workplace skills, and long-term employment success.
- Maintain accurate records: Complete case notes, employment documentation, and other required reports.
- Engage with the community: Travel locally to meet with participants, employers, and community partners.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is dependable, organized, adaptable, and committed to helping others reach their potential.
Required Qualifications:
- Relevant work or life experience supporting individuals with disabilities.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage an assigned caseload, and stay organized.
- Valid driver's license, and a reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel throughout the assigned service area.
- Ability to successfully complete required background checks.
