About this role
About Us:
At Fullbay, our mission is simple to create safer roads for our families and yours. As leaders in the heavy-duty repair industry, we power shops with technology that helps them run smarter and more efficiently. As an AI-First company, we invite artificial intelligence to eliminate friction, spark innovation, and drive efficiencies in every conversation— for our teams and our customers.
Position Overview:
The Inbound & SMB Outbound BDR is the first voice many heavy-duty repair shops hear from Fullbay. You'll respond fast to shops that raise their hand, and you'll reach out to small shops that haven't heard from us yet. Either way, your job is to learn what the shop needs, qualify the opportunity, and book demos for Account Executives. You'll join an established team with a solid foundation, and you'll help us retire older systems and rebuild our BDR organization as AI-first. This is a role for someone who is quick, coachable, and driven to turn conversations into booked meetings, and strong performers can grow into larger accounts on our team.
The Right Wrench for the Job:
In a heavy-duty shop, when a truck rolls in, the clock starts. The best service writers ask the right questions and get the job to the right person fast. The best technicians don't wait for work orders to appear — they know every bay, every truck, and every account before the phone rings. That's the instinct this role is built for: fast when a shop calls us, and first when they haven't yet.
You're the right fit if you move quickly when a lead comes in, you like picking up the phone to start a conversation, and you keep going when the work is repetitive and the pace is high. If you study your own calls and emails to find what could have gone better, if you keep going when the numbers are slow and the work is hard, and if rebuilding how a strong team works sounds like an opportunity instead of a risk — you belong here.
We care about what you've done and how you did it, not where you did it. Strong BDRs on our team have come from retail, cellular sales, and the classroom. This isn't the role for someone who wants to wait for the next lead or simply take orders. A prospect who fills out a form is interested, not sold, and part of the job is opening doors for shops that never asked to hear from us. If you're ready to find out what a shop needs, qualify the opportunity, and earn the meeting, we'd like to talk.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Win the speed game on inbound: Respond to inbound leads within minutes by phone and email, because slow follow-up loses deals.
- Prospect small shops outbound: Cold call, email, and social-prospect into small heavy-duty repair shops to book qualified meetings and demos for Account Executives.
- Turn interest into meetings: Hold real conversations with shop owners and managers, ask good discovery questions, and book qualified demos.
- Qualify with discipline: Apply clear qualification criteria so only sales-ready opportunities advance, and hand off to AEs with complete, useful context.
- Follow up relentlessly: Work leads who don't respond right away through multi-touch cadences, and keep going until you get an answer.
- Own your research: Take a quick look at each account and tailor your outreach so every conversation is relevant to that shop's business.
- Keep the system clean: Log every activity and keep Salesforce accurate and up to date on every lead and account.
- Hit and beat targets: Consistently deliver on response time, activity, meeting, and SQL goals with high-quality, well qualified output.
- Help rebuild the playbook: Test responses, talk tracks, openers, and objection handling, and use AI-first workflows to improve them. Retire what no longer works and share what does, so the whole team gets better.
- Give feedback on lead quality: Share what you hear from prospects with the sales and marketing teams so the leads and the messaging keep improving.
- Stay coachable and data-driven: Review your own call recordings and metrics, act on feedback fast, and continuously sharpen your craft.
- Master the phone: Handle both inbound and cold calls with strong objection-handling — stay composed, keep prospects engaged, and turn resistance into booked meetings.
- Adhere to all confidentiality and compliance regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education & Work Experience:
- 1+ years in a customer-facing role with measurable goals, such as sales, customer service, retail, cellular sales, call center, hospitality, education, military, recruiting, or the skilled trades. Inbound or outbound sales development experience is a plus, but it is not required.
- Demonstrated comfort holding unscripted phone conversations with people you haven't met, starting conversations with strangers, handling objections, and staying composed when a conversation doesn't go your way.
- A track record you can describe with numbers, such as targets, rankings, customer scores, or other goals you met or beat.
- Grit: a history of sticking with hard goals through setbacks, without needing someone to push you.
- A history of coachability and self-driven improvement. You seek out feedback, review your own performance, and act on what you learn.
- No specific degree required. We care about what you've done and how you got there.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong verbal communication, especially on the phone. You're friendly, persuasive, composed, and able to adapt in real time. Clear written communication by email is a plus, and we'll sharpen it with you.
- Natural curiosity and good discovery instincts. You ask thoughtful questions, listen closely, and can learn and apply a structured qualification framework so only sales-ready opportunities move forward.
- Grit, resilience, and composure under pressure and rejection. You treat a "no" as information and keep going with a sharper approach.
- Coachable and data-driven. You review your own performance, use metrics to self-coach, and act on feedback quickly.
- A track record of meeting or beating goals in a target-driven environment.
- Strong organization and time management. You work independently, prioritize well, and keep your follow-up tight in a fast-paced environment where speed matters.
- Comfortable with numbers and with learning new technology quickly. Working knowledge of MS Office and web-based tools, and comfort with online meeting and web conferencing software.
- Open to changing how things are done. You respect what already works and push to improve it, including by adopting AI-first ways of working.
- Self-starter with a positive attitude, confidence, an ownership mindset, and a drive to be the best.
- Collaborative team player who juggles multiple priorities and raises the performance of those around them.
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
