About this role
Have you ever wondered how our solar system formed and evolved? What are the hazards? Is there life beyond Earth? NASA is exploring our solar system and beyond to answer these age-old questions. We're launching spacecraft to asteroids, moons, and planets beyond Earth. We're using science to unlock their secrets. And we're sharing what we learn, freely and openly, for the good of life on Earth. NASA has a story to tell, and we need your help!
The Planetary Missions Program Office (PMPO) provides management and oversight for the robotic exploration missions of the Discovery, New Frontiers, and Solar System Exploration Programs under the NASA Science Mission Directorate Planetary Science Division. PMPO performs communication and outreach activities to share our programs’ exciting missions and their science with the public. The PMPO Communications/Outreach team promotes our missions by organizing local events, leading hands-on activities at national conferences and meetings, designing promotional items, and managing websites and social media accounts.
We are seeking interns with an enthusiasm for learning about and sharing NASA’s exciting planetary science missions. Interns will work directly with PMPO Communications and Outreach Leads to perform a variety of activities from organizing and participating in events to design/development of promotional items and developing web content. Projects for prospective interns exist across these areas and will be matched with skills, experience, and interests of the students.
Strong communication (both written and verbal) skills required. Enthusiasm for learning and sharing NASA’s exciting planetary science with the public!
