The Role:
Joining Moderna means advancing mRNA science to transform medicine. Work with exceptional global teams on a broad pipeline and build a career that makes a real difference for patients.
Moderna is strengthening its international business services hub in Warsaw, supporting our growing global operations. We welcome professionals ready to help advance our mission and shape the future of mRNA medicines.
Moderna is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Supply Chain data specialist to help shape the integrity, consistency and strategic value of Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) master data across our global operations. Working within our SAP Center of Excellence, you will combine hands-on SAP S/4HANA expertise with enterprise data governance, quality management and cross-functional process improvement to ensure that critical manufacturing and supply chain information remains accurate, secure and fit for business decision-making. Based at our Moderna Enterprise Solutions Hub (MESH) in Warsaw, you will collaborate with Digital, Manufacturing and Supply Chain stakeholders worldwide, driving data standardization, supporting system integration and enabling the reliable information foundations that underpin Moderna's innovative mRNA medicines.
Here's What You'll Do:
- Manage enterprise CMC master data within SAP S/4HANA: Create, maintain and manage critical CMC master data records within Moderna's SAP S/4HANA Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environment. Ensure that data supporting global Supply Chain, Manufacturing and related business operations is accurate, complete, consistent, secure and available to enable effective operational execution and informed business decisions.
- Drive master data governance and standardization: Develop, implement and maintain master data management standards, procedures and best practices that strengthen data accuracy, quality, integrity and consistency across the organization. Collaborate with Digital and business stakeholders to design and implement governance policies that support effective data ownership, standardization, maintenance and lifecycle management across enterprise functions.
- Maintain data quality through analysis, cleansing and validation: Perform detailed master data analysis to identify inconsistencies, duplicate records, incomplete information and data inaccuracies. Execute appropriate cleansing and correction activities, applying established quality methodologies to improve data reliability and maintain confidence in the information used across manufacturing, supply chain and business processes.
- Support enterprise data integration and synchronization: Collaborate with Digital and business teams to facilitate the integration and synchronization of master data across different enterprise systems and platforms. Develop a clear understanding of source data, how information is extracted or consolidated into shared repositories, and how it is connected to downstream reporting tools and business applications to deliver accurate, consistent and meaningful information.
- Translate business requirements into reliable master data solutions: Partner with internal and external stakeholders to understand operational data requirements, identify business dependencies and ensure that CMC master data structures support the needs of Manufacturing, Supply Chain and other relevant functions. Provide technical guidance on data standards, configuration requirements and lifecycle processes, helping stakeholders make informed decisions and maintain alignment with enterprise governance expectations.
- Support SAP data migration and system transformation initiatives: Participate in data migration projects involving SAP S/4HANA and associated enterprise systems, contributing to data mapping, preparation, testing, reconciliation and validation activities. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that migrated data is accurate, appropriately structured and aligned with established business requirements, supporting reliable system implementation and ongoing operational continuity.
- Monitor master data health and performance: Develop and maintain appropriate data quality monitoring activities, tracking relevant metrics and identifying trends that may affect enterprise data reliability. Report on master data health, highlight recurring issues and provide actionable insights that help stakeholders prioritize corrective actions and strengthen data management performance.
- Provide technical support and resolve master data issues: Respond to master data queries from business users and stakeholders, investigating discrepancies, troubleshooting data-related issues and coordinating resolution with relevant functional and Digital teams. Apply structured problem-solving and sound technical judgment to identify root causes, resolve data inconsistencies and reduce the risk of recurring issues.
- Document master data standards and strengthen user capabilities: Develop, maintain and update master data policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions and supporting knowledge documentation. Provide guidance, training and technical support to end-users on data entry standards, master data maintenance procedures and appropriate system use, helping promote consistent adoption of enterprise data governance practices.
- Lead and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives: Identify, lead and participate in process improvement projects as a master data subject matter expert (SME), challenging existing approaches and introducing practical solutions that improve data quality, operational efficiency and business value. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to simplify workflows, reduce unnecessary manual activities and strengthen the consistency and scalability of master data processes.
- Advance data-driven reporting and operational insights: Support the effective use of master data within shared repositories, reporting tools and business intelligence processes. Help ensure that source information is appropriately understood, structured and connected to value-added reporting capabilities that improve visibility, strengthen operational analysis and support decision-making across global Supply Chain and Manufacturing functions.
- Explore digital innovation and AI-enabled data management: Work closely with Digital stakeholders to identify opportunities to leverage automation, advanced analytics and emerging Generative AI-enabled tools to improve data cleansing, anomaly identification, documentation, knowledge sharing and master data governance. Contribute to the exploration of these capabilities within appropriate data security, privacy, validation and enterprise technology governance requirements.
- Ensure data security, privacy and policy compliance: Maintain master data in accordance with applicable data privacy regulations, company policies and established governance standards. Support appropriate handling, accuracy, consistency and security of enterprise information, ensuring that data management activities align with relevant internal requirements and business controls.
- Influence stakeholders and provide cross-functional SME leadership: Operate as an experienced individual contributor, providing subject matter expertise and influencing stakeholders across Moderna's global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Digital and business functions without direct people-management responsibilities. Build productive relationships, communicate complex data concepts clearly and coordinate activities across teams to promote consistent standards and effective master data lifecycle management.
- Support evolving business priorities: Contribute to additional projects, operational activities and responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility, accountability and a willingness to support the changing needs of Moderna's global operations.
