About this role
You know that a great patient experience depends on both the care delivered in the treatment room and the support provided at the front desk. If you enjoy both sides of dentistry, we’d love to meet you.
At Garland K. Davis, DDS & Associates, we’re looking for a cross-trained, Spanish-speaking Dental Assistant / Front Desk Coordinator who can help patients feel comfortable, informed, and supported throughout their visits.
This role combines hands-on clinical support with patient-facing administrative responsibilities. You’ll work across both areas based on the schedule and practice needs, helping our team deliver organized, attentive care.
Your Impact
- Welcome patients warmly and communicate clearly in English and Spanish.
- Assist dentists chairside during procedures, anticipating clinical needs and supporting patient comfort.
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and follow infection-control protocols.
- Obtain dental radiographs as permitted by your credentials and Maryland requirements.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and reinforce provider-directed instructions.
- Answer calls, respond to patient messages, and assist with check-in and checkout.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, follow up on unscheduled care, and help maintain productive schedules.
- Verify patient information and insurance details, collect payments, and coordinate with the financial team.
- Support clear handoffs between the front desk and clinical team so patients understand their next steps.
What You Bring
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate comfortably in a dental setting.
- Previous dental assisting experience and working knowledge of front desk operations.
- Current credentials required for your assigned clinical duties, including Maryland dental radiation qualifications if taking radiographs.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, treatment workflows, and infection-control practices.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A reassuring chairside manner and a professional, welcoming approach at the front desk.
- Comfort using dental practice software and learning new systems.
- A collaborative mindset, dependable follow-through, and willingness to support teammates.
What We Offer
- No late evening or weekend hours.
- Medical, dental, and vision benefit options.
- 401(k) with employer match.
- Paid time off and paid practice holidays.
- Training and mentorship across clinical and administrative workflows.
- Coaching in patient communication, scheduling, and treatment coordination.
- Access to modern dental technology and equipment.
- Opportunities to build your skills and contribute ideas.
- A team that values communication, accountability, compassion, and professional growth.
