- Secure supplier capacity, quality, delivery, cost competitiveness and continuity of supply to support project and customer commitments.
- Lead strategic sourcing, tendering, commercial evaluation, negotiation and contracting, in collaboration with category management, legal and other relevant stakeholders.
- Build and manage a competitive supplier base, including supplier identification, qualification, development, performance management, risk mitigation and, when required, phase-out.
- Ensure compliance with Metso policies, procurement processes, approval authorities, contractual standards, trade requirements and applicable laws.
- Establish effective governance for purchase orders, supplier commitments, changes, claims, expediting and escalation management.
- Collaborate with other Heads of Procurement and regional and global teams to capture synergies, leverage spend and share supplier capabilities.
- Monitor and improve procurement performance through relevant KPIs, including savings, cost avoidance, on-time delivery, quality, payment terms, supplier risk and compliance.
- Lead, coach and develop procurement professionals, setting clear priorities, accountability and individual development plans.
- Promote a culture of safety, integrity, inclusion, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to digitalization, data quality and process-improvement initiatives across Procurement and Supply Chain.
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline; postgraduate studies or professional procurement qualifications are an advantage.
- Significant experience in procurement, sourcing or supply chain, including progressive leadership responsibility in an international matrix organization.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and influencing senior stakeholders across business, technical and functional areas.
- Experience in mining, minerals processing, heavy equipment, engineering, manufacturing, construction or a comparable project-based industrial environment.
- Strong commercial acumen and proven capability in supplier negotiations, contracts, total-cost analysis and risk management.
- Solid understanding of project procurement, engineered-to-order supply, supplier quality, logistics and operational procurement interfaces.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.

- Experience with SAP or a comparable ERP environment; strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and procurement analytics tools.
- Fluent professional English; other languages are an advantage.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 15%, and to maintain the documentation required for business travel.
- A proactive, accountable and results-oriented leadership style, with a strong commitment to safety, ethics and customer success.

- A competitive base salary aligned with your skills and experience, together with an annual incentive program.
- Additional annual leave benefits for permanent and maximum-term employees.
- Flexible ways of working, enabling the team to balance time between home and the office in line with business needs.
- Gender-neutral paid parental leave of 18 weeks at full pay.
- Paid volunteer leave to support the local community or an organization of your choice.
- An active social club, company-wide events and family-focused activities.
- Comprehensive medical benefits, including access to discounted private health insurance for employees and eligible immediate family members.
