About this role

About us

Worley is a global company of energy, chemicals and resources experts headquartered in Australia. We partner with our customers to deliver projects and create value across the life of their assets. We specialize in consulting, engineering, procurement and construction across the project lifecycle, with services extending through to operations and decommissioning. Leveraging extensive experience and AI-enabled delivery, we support customers in navigating complexity as they meet today's needs and transition to more sustainable solutions.

What you will do:

·         Lead the structural modelling, detailing and drawing-delivery approach for bridge superstructures, substructures, abutments, piers, retaining elements and shallow or deep foundations.

·         Lead design delivery for civil foundations associated with conveyor supports, sleepers, trestles, transfer stations and related infrastructure where included in the structural package.

·         Establish practical modelling, detailing, annotation, drawing-sequencing and checking requirements in alignment with project CAD, BIM and document-control standards.

·         Interpret engineering calculations, design criteria, loading information and geotechnical recommendations and translate them into coordinated and constructible structural arrangements.

·         Make and endorse key design-production decisions relating to structural layout, reinforcement arrangement, steelwork interfaces, piling, anchor systems and foundation detailing within delegated authority.

·         Plan and coordinate work across structural designers and drafters, monitor package progress and support staged design submissions.

·         Lead model and drawing coordination with structural and bridge engineers, geotechnical, civil earthworks, hydrology, drainage, BIM and other interfacing disciplines.

·         Coordinate structural interfaces with road approaches, bridge hydraulics, scour protection, temporary access, crane and laydown requirements and construction staging.

·         Review and endorse structural models and drawings within the project checking framework, with attention to accuracy, consistency, traceability and alignment with the approved design basis.

·         Lead the resolution of model clashes, comments, design changes and interface matters, while maintaining alignment between native models, drawings, registers and issued deliverables.

·         Contribute to quantity take-offs, material schedules, constructability reviews and safety-in-design activities.

·         Mentor designers and encourage consistent technical and digital-delivery practices across the structural team.

What you will have:
·         Diploma, associate degree or bachelor-level qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Structural Design, Drafting or a related discipline.

·         Typically 15 or more years of structural design and detailing experience, including significant responsibility for leading design delivery on complex bridge, foundation or heavy civil packages. Candidates with particularly relevant experience are encouraged to express interest.

·         Advanced capability in relevant structural modelling, detailing and drafting software, with experience producing coordinated native models and construction-ready drawings.

·         Strong practical knowledge of reinforced concrete, structural steel, reinforcement detailing, piling, shallow and deep foundations and anchor systems.

·         Experience guiding design teams, coordinating staged submissions and reviewing model and drawing deliverables.

·         Ability to interpret structural calculations, loading information, geotechnical recommendations, design standards and engineering mark-ups.

·         Clear professional English communication and a collaborative approach to working with engineers, designers and digital-engineering teams.
