What You’ll Be Part Of
The Consumer Audio New Technology & Innovation (NT&I) team is at the center of audio technology innovation, supporting the development of HARMAN's next-generation consumer audio products, including over-ear headphones, true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds, and open wireless stereo (OWS) devices. The NT&I Denmark team is seeking a Senior Engineer, Acoustic Measurement & Evaluation, to lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of acoustic measurement and subjective evaluation methodologies for consumer audio products.
The successful candidate will be responsible for objective acoustic characterization of loudspeakers, headphones, earbuds, and emerging audio devices, as well as the design and management of laboratory test environments and listening evaluation programs.
This role combines deep expertise in electroacoustic measurements, data analysis, listening science, and laboratory operations to ensure industry-leading audio performance across our product portfolio.
How You’ll Make An Impact:
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership in acoustic measurement and evaluation, establishing best practices, and driving continuous improvement of measurement capabilities, tools, and processes.
- Acoustic Measurement & Characterization: Lead the objective acoustic characterization of speakers, headphones, earbuds, and emerging audio products, utilizing advanced measurement techniques to assess frequency response, distortion, directivity, sensitivity, noise performance, and sound pressure capabilities.
- Subjective Evaluation & Listening Science: Design and conduct subjective listening evaluations, including listener panel management, competitive benchmarking, and the development of scientifically robust methodologies for assessing sound quality and user experience.
- Data Analysis & Performance Insights: Analyse and interpret objective and subjective performance data, generating actionable insights and developing meaningful correlations between acoustic measurements and listener preferences.
- Measurement Methodology & Standards: Develop, validate, and maintain measurement methodologies and standards, ensuring acoustic evaluations are accurate, repeatable, and aligned across development teams and laboratories.
- Acoustic Laboratory Development: Design, establish, and maintain state-of-the-art acoustic test facilities, including listening rooms, anechoic and semi-anechoic environments, ear-simulator and HATS-based measurement systems, and automated test platforms.
- Collaboration: Provide acoustic measurement and evaluation support for internally developed technologies, algorithms, and proof-of-concept systems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on product validation, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and deployment.
