Equity Swap Middle Office Analyst

The Securities & Derivatives Analyst 2 is an intermediate-level role sitting within the Operations - Transaction Services function. The primary objective of this position is to facilitate the end-to-end clearance, settlement, and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions originating from trading desks and branch network offices.

Operating in a fast-paced environment, this role provides analytical input to trading desks, supports control and reporting activities, and contributes to the rollout of new product services. The position requires strong attention to detail to identify operational risk, ensure compliance with audit and regulatory policies, and protect the firm's reputation and client assets

What you'll do

- Execute and facilitate the timely processing, clearance, settlement, and investigation of client securities and derivative transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices.

- Investigate and resolve trade discrepancies and settlement exceptions, recommending operational process improvements to team leadership.

- Design, analyze, and distribute moderately complex operational and control reports to support management oversight, error trend analysis, and product rollouts.

- Drive adherence to audit and control policies by identifying procedural errors early, mitigating operational risk, and maintaining transparent escalation protocols.

- Collaborate with cross-functional operations teams, trading desks, and internal partners to resolve transaction-processing bottlenecks efficiently.

What we need from you

- Baseline understanding of securities, derivatives, and Treasury products, with practical execution experience in transaction processing or operational workflows.

- Proven track record of executing multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced, high-risk operational environment.
- Practical experience utilizing spreadsheet macros and analytical tools to manipulate data, generate reports, and automate daily tasks.
- Demonstrated capability to analyze moderately complex operational datasets and identify discrepancy patterns.
- Foundational knowledge of accounting standards, operational risk frameworks, and regulatory policy requirements.
- Strong commitment to transparent risk management, sound ethical judgment, and adherence to internal control procedures.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate across trading desks, branch offices, and operational support units.
- Strong collaborative mindset with the ability to escalate issues proactively and work toward cross-departmental solutions.
