We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist

In this role, you will:

- Design and build high-concurrency, low-latency and resilient backend services that support business-critical customer and colleague journeys.

- Develop and maintain distributed systems architecture using event-driven and microservices-based design patterns.

- Engineer real-time event processing pipelines using Kafka to support voice, transcription and workflow orchestration use cases.

- Implement and optimise Redis for distributed caching, session state management and fast data access across services.

- Design effective MongoDB data models for contact, session and configuration domains, ensuring scalability, maintainability and performance.

- Build and operate cloud-native solutions on Amazon Web Services, including compute, networking, secrets management and messaging capabilities.

- Apply strong engineering practices across Application Programming Interface design, resilience, monitoring, observability and production support.

- Work closely with architecture, voice engineering and cross-functional technology teams to deliver reliable platforms that can be adopted quickly and scaled confidently.

Skills & Experience

- Proven expertise in designing and delivering high-availability distributed systems in complex enterprise environments.

- Strong backend engineering capability in Java and Spring Boot, or equivalent technologies used to build scalable service-based platforms.

- Hands-on experience with Kafka for streaming architectures and event-driven processing in near real-time environments.

- Strong knowledge of Redis for caching, distributed coordination and low-latency application design.

- Solid experience with MongoDB, including document modelling, query optimisation and performance tuning.

- Good understanding of Amazon Web Services and cloud-native engineering principles, including secure deployment and operational scalability.

- Strong knowledge of resilience patterns, system observability, incident troubleshooting and production engineering best practices.

- Ability to contribute quickly in a hands-on specialist role, partnering effectively with technical stakeholders and driving delivery with minimal supervision.
