About this role

The Opportunity:

You’ll join MoreLife by Voy’s Sheffield team as a Child Weight Management Practitioner, helping children and families build healthier habits that last. You’ll lead engaging, fun and inclusive group sessions, using coaching skills to help families set realistic goals, overcome barriers and make changes that fit into everyday life.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll see the difference you make. You’ll spend most of your time working directly with children and families, supporting them between sessions and building the kind of trusting relationships that keep people motivated. You’ll also have the chance to work closely with GPs, schools and local partners, getting to know the communities you serve and shaping how our service is felt across Sheffield.

You’ll be part of a supportive, values-led team, backed by 25 years of NHS-commissioned expertise and Voy’s investment in technology and scale.

Hours: 32 Hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 12pm to 6pm
Friday: 9am to 1pm
Saturday: 9am to 1pm

What you’ll do:

- Lead weight management groups (around 80% of your time). You’ll deliver our MoreLife programme to groups of children and families, running interactive, inclusive and fun sessions on healthy eating, physical activity and lifestyle change. You’ll use coaching skills such as motivational interviewing and goal setting to help people overcome barriers and lose weight in a sustainable way.

- Support participants between sessions. You’ll stay in touch with the people in your groups by calling anyone who misses a session, running follow-up calls and drop-ins, and signposting extra support when someone needs it. You’ll always be sensitive to their physical and emotional needs and follow local and national safeguarding procedures.

- Assess, record and report. You’ll take anthropometric measurements (such as height and weight) to support patient assessment and monitoring. You’ll keep paper and computer records of referrals, contacts and outcomes accurate and up to date, with all data updated within 48 hours of a session. You’ll also use this information to produce clear reports and review how well our programmes are working, so we can keep improving results together.

- Build partnerships in the community. You’ll develop and maintain relationships with GPs, referrers, commissioners and local partners, and get to know the issues affecting the communities we serve. You’ll also provide health awareness, information and training to local groups and individuals to promote healthier lifestyles.

- Pitch in where needed. As part of a close team, you’ll help with the administration of enrolling new clients, such as answering calls, sending communications and phoning clients.

- Attend weekly meetings with your manager/team to discuss KPI's, schedules, challenges and goals.
