Hygiene Operative - Ambient

40 hours per week - Night Shift

Sunday - Thursday, 22:00 - 06:00 The purpose of this role is to be part of a team which will maintain excellent cleaning standards at our fast-paced frozen storage and distribution facility that is dedicated to delivering excellent customer service and adding value to apetito’s customers.

This role is predominantly working in the ambient areas of the warehouse however some duties may involve working in the freezer warehouse, which runs at -23 degrees.

We'll provide all the PPE to keep you warm and safe in the freezer.

The Warehouse team work to strict delivery deadlines so being efficient and able to work at pace is really important.

You will be trained to cover deep cleaning duties in and around our cold storage warehouse, ensuring that all allocated tasks for the day are carried out efficiently and to a meticulously high standard.

You will also be asked to pick orders as required to support warehouse operations during peak periods.

A reasonable amount of overtime, potentially on weekends, may be required (weekend and overtime shift allowances may apply.)

Due to the location, a driving licence and access to your own transport are essential.

Responsibilities

- Cleaning duties for all ambient areas (canteen, toilet/welfare areas, changing rooms, offices, staircases, loading bays)

- Cleaning duties inside a Cold Store Warehouse (appropriate Personal Protective Equipment will be provided)

- Removal of dust and debris at low and high level from loading bays

- Vacuuming office floors and cleaning of desks and meeting rooms

- Retstocking of cleaning consumables

- Floor cleaning (training will be provided for use of machines)

- Collecting any damaged product from loading bay areas and putting in a specified place.

- Ensuring bins in your designated area are emptied on a regular basis

- Ensure that busy working locations are kept clean and tidy at all times

- Keeping the floor area free of litter, dust and ice

- Ambient area responsibility as well as frozen

- Picking orders

- Support warehouse operations during peak periods.

About you

Essential:

- Experience of working as part of a team

- Good standard of English (verbal and reading)

- Positive and proactive attitude

- Be able to work on own initiative

- Previous cleaning / hygiene experience

- Experience of working to targets

- Experience of reporting, and giving feedback, to supervisors

Desirable:

- Previous Warehouse experience

- Previous Cold Store experience

- Chemical awareness training

- COSHH training (or a willingness to complete)

- Own transport due to site location

The role requires a self-motivated conscientious and enthusiastic individual with an attention to detail, who can work on their own initiative as well as being part of the team and must also be committed to learning a diverse range of skills whilst still being able to hit the targets required.
