Job Summary
The Salem Hospital Endoscopy and Pre-Procedural Evaluation Clinic, located in Salem, Massachusetts, provides comprehensive preoperative assessment and optimization services for patients undergoing a broad range of surgical and procedural interventions. Working collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, primary care physicians, and specialty providers, the team is dedicated to enhancing patient safety, improving surgical outcomes, and ensuring a seamless perioperative experience through thorough medical evaluation, risk stratification, medication management, and coordination of required testing. As part of Salem Hospital and Mass General Brigham, the clinic is committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care and supporting efficient, high-quality surgical services across the organization.
We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Nurse Practitioner to join our Endoscopy and Pre-Procedural Evaluation teams on-site at Salem Hospital. This unique opportunity offers a blend of clinical support and administrative responsibilities, including 24 hours per week supporting Endoscopy patients, 8 hours per week supporting Surgical Specialties, and 8 hours of dedicated administrative time.
This is a weekday, day-shift position with flexible scheduling. Typical hours will likely include a later morning start and evening end time, such as 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM or 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
Importantly, this role is non-patient facing and does not involve direct patient care visits. The Nurse Practitioner will primarily conduct preoperative and pre-admission telephone assessments, reviewing medical histories, evaluating perioperative risk factors, coordinating necessary testing and clearances, providing patient education, and partnering closely with procedural teams to ensure patients are appropriately prepared for their upcoming procedures. This position is ideal for a Nurse Practitioner who enjoys clinical decision-making, care coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration in a structured outpatient setting.
