This position requires the ability to read and understand English safety labels and written work instructions.
We are seeking a dependable Porter/Matron in Washington, DC. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday – 6:00pm – 10:00pm . The hourly rate for this role is $21.40/hr .
The Porter/Matron ensures the property presents a clean, professional appearance throughout the day and provides prompt service to tenants and building management.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain restrooms, lobbies, entrances, elevators, and other common areas.
- Replenish restroom and common area supplies.
- Respond quickly to spills, emergencies, and special cleaning requests.
- Empty trash receptacles and monitor exterior/public spaces.
- Support daytime building operations by keeping all high-traffic areas presentable.
Requirements
Qualifications:
This position requires the ability to read and understand English safety labels and written work instructions.
- Fluency in English (required).
- Spanish proficiency preferred, but not essential.
- 1–2 years of janitorial experience; lead experience preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift/push/pull up to 30 lbs.
