Position Description:
The Principal, Enterprise Execution & Standards Oversight provides enterprise-level leadership across project and program delivery, serving as the central hub that connects functional PMOs and delivery teams within a hub-and-spoke, strong-matrix operating model. Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Execution Office (EEO), the Principal establishes and maintains the standards, governance, controls, and reporting practices that ensure consistent, transparent, and comparable execution across the enterprise portfolio.
The Principal ensures delivery operates as one integrated enterprise system rather than siloed efforts—connecting strategy, planning, execution, and outcomes to sharpen leadership decision-making and sustain delivery success. Working with limited supervision and largely through influence rather than direct authority, the Principal drives coordination, shared delivery practices, and common controls and metrics across portfolios while respecting each functional PMO's ownership of its own delivery. The role partners with the Strategic Change Office (SCO) to embed change leadership into PMO execution and with Enterprise Resource Capacity Planning to align standards, tools, and data into a single source of truth for enterprise visibility.
Key Responsibilities:
Enterprise Standards & Governance Management
- Define, maintain, and evolve enterprise project and program delivery standards, including templates, minimum delivery requirements, delivery methodologies, and an enterprise delivery playbook.
- Establish and sustain governance frameworks, stage gates, and decision-rights (governance map) that clarify accountability across the enterprise, functional PMOs, and leadership.
- Drive adoption of consistent delivery practices across functional PMOs, enabling enterprise consistency without over-centralizing delivery ownership.
Enterprise Portfolio Reporting & Performance Management
- Standardize enterprise portfolio reporting—status, value delivery, risks, and issues, providing executives and business area leaders consistent, decision-quality information to compare and act across portfolios.
- Integrate cross-portfolio insights into executive dashboards and ensure comparability and transparency across all portfolios.
- Serve as a “single source of truth” for portfolio visibility, partnering on tooling strategy, systems of record, and a central repository for standards and artifacts.
Risk, Issue & Change Control Oversight
- Establish enterprise-wide risk and issue management practices, including an enterprise RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) classification system and escalation thresholds.
- Enable disciplined tracking, monitoring, and control of change impacts, risks, and issues so emerging challenges are surfaced early and addressed at the appropriate level.
- Govern enterprise change control and impact-management processes across the portfolio.
Cross-Portfolio Integration & Alignment
- Connect strategy → planning → execution → outcomes, ensuring delivery functions as an integrated enterprise system rather than siloed efforts.
- Align functional PMOs to enterprise priorities, delivery expectations, and the hub-and-spoke engagement model.
- Partner with the Strategic Change Office (SCO) to embed change leadership, adoption, and readiness into functional PMO execution.
- Provide the Enterprise Change Agenda (ECA) and functional PMOs with a unified framework of standards, tools, and insights that enable consistent, enterprise-aligned execution.
Decision Support & Continuous Improvement
- Support prioritization, resource, and governance decisions by translating cross-portfolio delivery data into clear tradeoffs, decision points, and recommended actions for leadership.
- Continuously improve enterprise delivery standards, tooling, templates, and reporting based on adoption, feedback, and maturing enterprise needs.
- This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Project/Program Management, Information Technology, Organizational Leadership, or a related field, and extensive working knowledge of the PMI Project/Program Management (PMBOK) body of knowledge.
- Demonstrated experience establishing or operating enterprise project/program delivery standards, governance frameworks, stage gates, and portfolio reporting.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise program/portfolio delivery, PMO operations, or enterprise standards and governance, including leading cross-functional execution on large, complex initiatives.
- Proven ability to influence and drive alignment across functional PMOs, business areas, and delivery teams within a matrix or hub-and-spoke operating model, without direct authority.
- Strong working knowledge of RAID (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies) management, change control, and integrated executive-level portfolio reporting.
- Strong business acumen, including financial analysis and the ability to translate complex delivery data into clear, decision-ready insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with key MS products (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
