Basic Job Functions:

The Joist Production Teammate works as part of a team to safely and efficiently produce quality joists in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities may include welding, fabrication, cutting material, joist assembly, machine operation, inspection, and dipping joists in primer.

- Operate welders, torches, plasma equipment, power tools, hand tools, forklifts, mobile equipment, industrial steel processing equipment, and overhead cranes.

- Support safety, quality, housekeeping, and production standards.

- Work for long periods while standing or moving in a production environment that may include hot and cold conditions and moderate to heavy lifting.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Fabrication and welding experience.

- Ability to read and understand shop orders.

- Must be in good standing in current position.

Preferred Qualifications:

- MIG and/or Stick welding certifications .

- Joist and/or deck experience.

- Manufacturing experience.

- Leadership experience.
