This role combines hands-on software engineering with Agile team leadership in support of a mission-critical C2BMC Planner (PLNR) Product Team. You will design, develop, test, and maintain high-availability Java applications and automation tools while also facilitating Agile ceremonies and supporting Program Increment (PI) planning. The position is ideal for an experienced Java developer with strong Agile experience who enjoys both technical problem-solving and guiding a team to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performance software in a complex defense environment.
Responsibilities

- Develop, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation tools that support reliable and repeatable software delivery.
- Apply software engineering best practices, including coding standards, automated testing, automated builds, and configuration management, to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Serve as a servant leader for the Agile team, providing guidance and support while removing impediments to keep work flowing smoothly.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, to ensure effective collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Support and help guide the team through Program Increment (PI) planning, including feature breakdown, story definition, and alignment with broader program objectives.
- Manage and coordinate cross-team dependencies to ensure integrated delivery across related products and subsystems.
- Collaborate closely with the Product Owner and technical team members to prioritize work, clarify requirements, and align on sprint and PI goals.
- Monitor and drive progress toward sprint and PI commitments, ensuring that scope, quality, and timelines remain on track.
- Contribute to the definition, implementation, and improvement of Agile and engineering processes to increase team efficiency and product quality.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, both in writing and verbally, to report status, issues, and risks.
- Support government financial tracking and planning activities by leveraging familiarity with Earned Value Management System (EVMS), as applicable.
- Ensure that all software solutions meet performance, security, and reliability requirements appropriate for mission-critical defense systems.
- Maintain a high level of team engagement by fostering a collaborative, respectful, and accountable work environment.
- Promptly identify, analyze, and resolve technical and process obstacles that could impact delivery.
Essential Skills
- 35+ years of professional Java development experience, preferably in missile defense or other high-availability or mission-critical systems.

- Ability to provide servant leadership and facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ability to guide teams through Program Increment (PI) planning, feature breakdown, and cross-team dependency management.
- Current, active, in-scope Government-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, required to start.
- Ability to meet all requirements associated with holding and maintaining a Government-issued Secret security clearance.
