Position Overview
Superior Skilled Trades is partnered with a growing company seeking an experienced Commercial Plumber with a strong background in commercial boiler installations, replacements, and mechanical piping systems.
This position focuses on installing and replacing steam boilers, hydronic boilers, and commercial water heaters in multi-family residential buildings, apartment complexes, and other commercial properties throughout the Chicago area.
The ideal candidate has hands-on commercial plumbing experience, understands boiler and hydronic heating systems, and can independently manage installation projects from material preparation and piping layout through system startup and completion.

Pay and Benefits
- $45–$55 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities
- Install and replace commercial steam boilers, hydronic boilers, and commercial water heaters.
- Install, modify, and connect plumbing and mechanical piping associated with commercial heating systems.
- Lay out, measure, cut, thread, fabricate, and install piping, pumps, valves, and related equipment.
- Read and interpret piping diagrams, project specifications, and manufacturer installation instructions.
- Prepare materials, organize daily work activities, and coordinate installation tasks.
- Lead installations and support other tradespeople to ensure projects meet safety and quality standards.
- Coordinate equipment removal, placement, and system shutdowns as needed.
- Troubleshoot field conditions and resolve plumbing and installation challenges.
- Communicate project progress, material needs, and field issues with the office and customers.
- Assist with system testing, startup, and final project completion.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Commercial Plumber, preferably with commercial boiler installation and replacement.
- Working knowledge of steam and hydronic heating systems.
- Experience installing commercial water heaters and associated piping.
- Strong plumbing, pipe layout, measurement, fabrication, and installation skills.
- Ability to independently manage installations and make sound field decisions with minimal supervision.
- Ability to read and follow piping diagrams, specifications, and equipment installation requirements.
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and committed to quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle.
