Lumino Harris Dental, conveniently located on Bealey Avenue in central Christchurch, is looking for a Sterilisation Assistant / Receptionist / Dental Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.

This is a varied role where no two days will look quite the same. You’ll work across sterilisation, reception and dental assisting, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, likes staying busy and is happy to lend a hand wherever needed.

We’re a professional, close-knit team looking for someone who is reliable, personable and proactive, with a genuine passion for providing great patient care. As the role works across two levels of the practice, it would suit someone who enjoys being active throughout the day and can confidently balance different responsibilities.

Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to gain experience across several areas of a busy dental practice while becoming an important part of our day-to-day team.

As a Sterilisation Assistant, you will:

- Ensure best practice is followed when cleaning and sterilising instruments
- Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control
- Support the clinical team to help keep the practice running smoothly

As a Receptionist, you will:

- Provide a warm and welcoming experience for our patients
- Manage patient enquiries and coordinate appointments
- Process payments and assist with general administration
- Help ensure the reception area runs smoothly and efficiently

As a Dental Assistant, you will:

- Provide chairside support to our dental professionals
- Help create a positive and comfortable experience for our patients
- Support the clinical team with the day-to-day running of the practice
- Maintain high standards of clinical care and organisation

The hours for this role are:

- Monday: 8:00am – 6:00pm | Sterilisation Assistant
- Wednesday: 8:00am – 5:00pm | Reception
- Friday: 8:00am – 3:00pm | Dental Assistant

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who brings a positive attitude and enjoys working as part of a team.

Ideally, you will have:

- Previous dental experience would be an advantage, but is not essential as full training can be provided for the right person
- Previous reception, administration or customer-facing experience
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask
- Great attention to detail and a willingness to learn
- Confidence working in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Good computer skills, with knowledge of Exact being an advantage
- A reliable, flexible and team-focused approach
