##### As Part of Our Team, You Will:

- Develop and oversee integrated underground mine plans from the medium-term horizon through daily execution, ensuring alignment with the Business Plan, Quarterly Forecast, 5-Year Plan, production objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the development, review and issue of rolling medium-term, monthly, weekly and daily schedules, ensuring tactical plans remain aligned with approved production, development and financial commitments.
- Ensure that underground development, production stopes, backfill, ventilation, egress, mine services and infrastructure are integrated and physically sequenced to deliver safe, practical and executable plans.
- Establish and maintain fit-for-purpose planning inputs, assumptions and controls, including approved models, geotechnical criteria, productivity rates, equipment and workforce assumptions, operating constraints, costs and schedule basis.
- Coordinate cross-functional planning inputs and reviews and secure the technical reviews, operational acceptance and approvals required for plan issues and execution.
- Direct schedule optimization, resource levelling and constraint management, confirming equipment, workforce, services and infrastructure readiness before plan commitment.
- Oversee performance-to-plan, spatial, plan-on-plan and horizon-to-horizon reconciliation, ensuring variances, root causes and inform subsequent plans and assumptions.
- Lead planning and execution risk management, change control, recovery planning, production reforecasting and budget realignment.
- Facilitate planning and commitment reviews, communicate approved priorities and trade-offs, and provide direction and influence to Mine Operations for disciplined plan execution.
- Lead and develop planning capability through work prioritization, coaching, continuous improvement and effective management of assigned specialist or contract resources.

##### Your Training, Skills & Experience Checklist:

Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):

- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized institution. A closely related engineering degree may be accepted only where accompanied by demonstrable underground mine-design and planning competence
- Applicable Ghana Minerals Commission competency certification, where required by the statutory duties or appointment assigned to the position.

Preferred / desirable Qualifications

- Current professional registration or eligibility for registration with a recognized professional engineering institution, preferably licensing through the Engineering Council Ghana/GhIE pathway.

Experience

- A minimum of 8 years’ relevant mining-engineering experience is required, including substantial recent underground mine-planning experience and demonstrated delivery across short- and medium-term planning horizons.
- Experience must include underground design and scheduling, operational performance analysis and reconciliation, cost/physical integration, risk and change control, and multidisciplinary technical assurance.
- At least 5 years of direct underground mine-planning experience is preferred.

## Knowledge

- Advanced knowledge of underground mining methods, development and production operations, including the interaction between development, stoping, backfill, drill-and-blast, materials handling and mine services.
- Advanced knowledge of short- and medium-term underground mine design and scheduling, including stope and development design, production sequencing, physical precedence, schedule logic, productivity assumptions, access, congestion and operational constraints. The current scheduling specification requires development, stopes, backfill, ventilation, egress and services to be fully sequenced with appropriate capacities.
- Advanced knowledge of performance-to-plan and mine-plan reconciliation, including spatial and volumetric compliance, plan-on-plan comparison, root-cause analysis, recovery planning and controlled adjustment of planning assumptions.
- Competent knowledge of underground drill-and-blast principles, sufficient to integrate development and stope designs, production drilling, blasting sequences, safe firing requirements and execution constraints into executable plans.
- Competent knowledge of cost and physical modelling, including productivity and cost drivers, physical–financial integration, budget and forecast alignment, and evaluation of operational alternatives.
- Competent knowledge of operational optimization and scenario analysis, including trade-off evaluation, value improvement, schedule risk, variability reduction and identification of practical recovery options.
- Competent knowledge of mine-planning risk management and change control, including identification and ranking of execution risks, mitigation controls, basis-of-schedule changes, horizon alignment and formal approval requirements.
