ABOUT THE ROLE

The Control Room Technician is responsible for the safe operation and monitoring of the engine production test cell. This role requires a higher level of technical expertise than assembly positions: the technician executes approved test sequences from the control room, monitors live engine parameters during test runs, and reacts correctly to alarms, limits, and abnormal behaviour.

The technician performs pre-test checks of instrumentation, fuel system status, and cell readiness, supports rigging and de-rigging of the unit under test, and secures the cell after each run. Every test must be executed strictly to procedure and fully recorded, ensuring complete traceability of results, serial numbers, and configurations.

Due to the nature of the product — gas turbine engines running on fuel, at high temperature, with rotating machinery — disciplined execution, constant attention, and a safety-first mindset are essential. The Control Room Technician is expected to stop a test and report immediately whenever something is not right, even if readings are still within limits, and reports to the Senior Technician – Production Testing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Operate control room systems and execute approved test sequences (HMI / test software) exactly as defined in the procedures.

- Monitor live test parameters (temperatures, pressures, vibration, thrust, speed) and execute start, stop, hold, and emergency shutdown procedures when defined criteria are met.

- Perform pre-test and post-test checks, leak checks, and support rigging and de-rigging of the unit under test.

- Record test results with full traceability and report all discrepancies and anomalies to the Senior Technician.

- Perform first-level checks of test equipment and instrumentation, track calibration status and consumables.

- Engage to production schedule and goals.

- Comply with AS9100.

- Contribute to a safe and lean production process (EHS, 5S).

- Collaborate with production, test engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Technical diploma or vocational qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Mechatronics (or equivalent experience).

- 3+ years of experience operating test stations, control rooms, or industrial test equipment in a manufacturing or test environment.

- Able to read and strictly follow written test procedures and work instructions in English.

- Experience operating test or HMI software; familiarity with data acquisition (DAQ) systems and instrumentation is an advantage.

- Experience with fuel systems, pressurized systems, or rotating machinery is an advantage.

- Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO standards.

- Willing to work shifts if required by the test schedule.
