About this role

About mimic mimic robotics is a frontier physical AI company building the full stack of general-purpose dexterous manipulation. Founded in 2024 by ETH Zurich researchers, mimic pioneered Video-Action Models for robotics while also developing in-house dexterous hand hardware. Our growing team brings together world-class researchers working across our offices in Zurich and San Francisco.
The Role We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to work on the mechanical and human-centered design of our wearable data collection device used by factory workers to collect high-quality hand-motion and force data. You'll own key mechanical and ergonomic decisions balancing device accuracy with comfort, robustness, and real-world usability while taking the wearable from early prototypes toward a scalable product.
We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to help us scale and improve our hardware products. You'll work at the intersection of mechanical engineering, electronics, and robotics, driving designs from prototypes into reliable, scalable products.

- Good understanding of electromechanical systems and how mechanical, electrical, and electronic components interact.
- Experience improving product designs to support increased production volumes.
- Hands-on, practical problem-solving skills and a willingness to build, test, and iterate quickly.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment with a high degree of ownership and autonomy.

Nice to Have
- Experience in robotics, consumer electronics, wearable devices, or other complex hardware products.
- Experience scaling hardware production or working with contract manufacturers.
- Familiarity with sensors, actuators, motors, and embedded electronic systems.
