About this role
Location: London, King's Cross
Contract: 12-month Fixed Term Contract
Studio working pattern: Hybrid, 3 days in the studio (Mon, Thu, Fri) and 2 days remote
At Trailmix, our players are the very reason we exist and our mission is to create delightful spaces where millions of people can flourish. Our hit game Love & Pies , launched in September 2021, has resonated with millions worldwide and we build free-to-play mobile games that are snackable yet filled with heart, humour, and stories that stick.
We're a focused and highly collaborative team with a big creative spirit. We believe the best games are made when the people behind them feel inspired, supported, and proud of the work they do.
That's why our values sit at the heart of how we work, shaping every decision and creative choice we make.
Trailmix Values
- We win as one: Success is shared, and collaboration fuels everything we do because great games are never built solo.
- We are resilient by nature: We adapt and rise stronger each time because every challenge is a chance to evolve.
- We are powered by our players: Every choice begins with them because when our players thrive, so do we.
- We are kind and direct: We speak with honesty and care because clarity and compassion build the trust that makes us better.
- We stay curious and grow: We ask, explore, and learn because curiosity keeps our creativity alive.
- We decide boldly and own fully: We move with courage and conviction because great ideas only matter when we stand behind them.
Our values are what set Trailmix apart: they guide us in crafting games that are joyful, authentic, and player-first. We've created a workplace where both people and players feel seen, supported, and inspired. If you're excited by meaningful creativity, true collaboration, and making games that bring people joy, you'll feel right at home here, too.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Data Analyst or Data Scientist to join our data team in London on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. If you love turning player data into clear answers and care about the games those answers shape, you'll fit right in. The title matters less to us than the person: a strong analyst with a product mindset is exactly who we're after.
Reporting to our Game Data Lead, you'll start by exploring new ways to grow our games organically, building on the groundwork the team is laying now.
You'll also pick up work across our existing games. You'll sit within a lean game team, giving them the insight they need to make good decisions, while being a valued part of the wider data team.
Success looks like a game team that treats you as one of their own and makes better decisions because of your work, and a data team that's stronger for having you in it.
We keep things simple. We'd rather act on a clear answer today than a perfect one next month. You'll have the independence to shape your approach, make decisions within your area and take ownership of outcomes, with experienced teammates to collaborate with when you need another perspective.
The Day to Day
- Analyse player behaviour across our games, identifying what's working, where there's room to improve and the likely impact of different changes.
- Own the measurement of organic growth , from tracking organic install share to testing how shareable our games are, and using the findings to recommend next steps.
- Investigate and improve install attribution , applying causal methods to understand where new players come from and what brings them in.
- Design and analyse A/B tests with the game team, choosing appropriate methods, interpreting results and recommending what to do next.
- Build and maintain dashboards and data models using Omni, dbt and BigQuery, making sure game teams have reliable data to inform their decisions.
- Work with developers to define tracking requirements , identifying the events and data points needed to measure features before they ship.
- Apply player insights to game design , identifying opportunities to balance and optimise features and measure their impact.
- Turn loosely defined questions into clear analytical approaches , choosing the right data and methods, owning your work from start to finish and making decisions within your scope.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to game teams and the wider studio, sharing knowledge and collaborating with teammates to improve how we work.
- Use good judgement in how you work , balancing speed with quality, adapting to changing priorities and raising risks early.
- Use AI confidently and critically throughout your work, from writing SQL and dbt models to exploring data, while checking outputs and applying your own judgement.
About You
- You write clean, reliable SQL and use Python for analysis.
- You have a solid understanding of applied statistics, including sampling, hypothesis testing and A/B tests , and know how to apply them to real problems.
- You can take a loosely defined question, work out the right analytical approach and turn it into an answer people can trust and act on.
- You've used data to understand how people use a product , and you think about what the findings mean for the product, not just the numbers.
- You can explain complex findings clearly to people without a technical background and confidently recommend what to do next.
- You've done hands-on data analytics work , turning raw data into useful insights that inform decisions.
- You use AI tools in your daily work and know when to question, check or challenge what they give you.
- You're comfortable taking ownership of your work , making decisions within your area and moving things forward independently, while knowing when to bring others in.
If you don't tick every box but this sounds like you, we'd still like to hear from you.
Great to Have
- A background in mobile games or apps. Experience with a cloud or web product works well too.
- Hands-on experience with BigQuery, dbt or Omni, or similar warehouse, modelling and BI tools. Looker is very close to Omni.
- Experience with causal inference or attribution methods.
- Experience across the full data pipeline, including tracking, ingestion, pipelines, modelling and visualisation.
How We Work at Trailmix

- Builds impact through collaboration: You work well with others, share different perspectives and contribute to outcomes the team can be proud of.
- Grows stronger through challenges: You adapt when things change, work through problems and find practical ways forward.
- Keeps players at the heart of decisions: You use data to understand player needs and make decisions that improve their experience.
- Communicates with clarity and care: You share your thinking openly, give constructive feedback and listen to different perspectives.
- Stays curious and lifts others up: You look for ways to improve, learn from others and share what you discover.
- Moves with courage and ownership: You make thoughtful decisions within your area, take responsibility for outcomes and raise concerns early.
Our values shape how we work together, make decisions and build games that players love.
