About this role
Are you passionate about transport operations and finding smarter ways of working? Do you enjoy taking ownership of complex transport flows, solving operational challenges and turning improvement ideas into measurable results? Join Arla’s European Transport Control Centre (ETCC) and help us drive reliable, cost-efficient and increasingly automated transport operations.
You will join our European Transport Control Centre, where we centrally manage intercompany transport operations across Arla’s European network. In this role, you will combine ownership of daily transport operations with process improvement and automation, helping us ensure reliable service and cost-efficient transport flows.
How you will make an impact
As a Senior Transport Planner for North Europe, you will take ownership of daily transport operations within your area of responsibility. You will manage transport bookings and automated execution flows in TMS/SAP BN4L, ensure data quality and resolve exceptions outside defined automation rules. Working closely with ETCC colleagues, planners, production sites, warehouses, carriers and commercial stakeholders, you will ensure that transport plans meet service, capacity and cost requirements. You will also identify opportunities to improve and automate processes using standard system functionality and digital tools such as AI, RPA, Copilot and agents.
Specifically, you will
• Own daily and weekly transport plans, bookings and execution, balancing service levels, operational efficiency and cost.
• Monitor automated transport flows in TMS/SAP BN4L, resolve operational exceptions and support on-time departures.
• Coordinate transport operations with sites, carriers and internal stakeholders, resolving unplanned events and escalating issues when needed.
• Monitor service, cost, utilisation, carrier performance and data-quality KPIs, conducting root cause analyses and driving improvements.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process standardisation and automation, including improvements to freight settlement, invoice validation and transport master data.
What will make you successful
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in logistics or transport planning, including ownership of complex transport operations and improvement projects.
• Experience with transport planning and management systems, preferably SAP TM and SAP BN4L.
• Solid understanding of supply chain and transport processes, including their impact on service, cost and operational efficiency.
• Experience working with KPIs, root cause analysis and process standardisation to identify and implement improvements.
• Professional proficiency in Microsoft tools and practical familiarity with AI tools such as Copilot and agents.
• Fluent written and spoken English; Swedish or German at B1 level or above would be an advantage.
• Good European geographical knowledge and flexibility regarding working hours to support operational needs.
• A bachelor’s degree in Logistics would be an advantage.
• Confidence in making decisions, taking responsibility and following issues through to resolution.
• Ability to identify opportunities and turn them into practical process improvements.
• Ability to build effective relationships and work successfully across teams and organisations in an international environment.
Please note that this role requires you to be in the office 50% of the time + one additional day (monthly).
What do we offer?
• Work in an international environment with teams across different countries
• Scandinavian working style – flat structure, informal atmosphere & no formal dress code
