Description

Position Overview

This is an IN OFFICE position - remote work is not available

J&H Oil is seeking a Network Administrator to support the network that connects our corporate offices and nearly 100 retail locations across Michigan. In this role you will keep our stores, corporate systems, and ERP applications connected, and secure, while helping our team manage servers, Active Directory, and day-to-day systems administration.

This is a hands-on role for someone with solid networking experience who wants to grow. You will handle network operations and troubleshooting independently, contribute to upgrade and modernization projects, and work closely with the IT team, field technicians, and our Managed Service Provider (MSP). It offers broad exposure across networking, security, virtualization, and systems administration, with room to take on more ownership over time.

Key Responsibilities

Network Engineering (primary focus)

• Maintain and support the enterprise network across corporate offices and retail locations.

• Monitor, configure, and troubleshoot VPN tunnels connecting stores to corporate systems and ERP applications.

• Administer Cisco switches, WatchGuard Firebox firewalls, Aruba access points, Meraki wireless, and Cradlepoint devices.

• Monitor network performance and availability, and resolve connectivity issues across multiple sites.

• Assist with network and firewall upgrades, new store turn-ups, and modernization projects.

• Maintain accurate network documentation, including diagrams, IP addressing, and configuration records.

• Work with internet carriers and vendors to resolve circuit and service issues.

Systems Administration (supporting role)

• Assist with administration of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy.

• Support Dell server and Hyper-V virtualization environments, including patching and routine maintenance.

• Handle user provisioning, onboarding and offboarding, and access control requests.

• Support cloud-based communication and VoIP systems.

Team and Operations

• Serve as an escalation point for field technicians and help desk staff on network issues.
