Interventional Cardiologist

Montefiore Einstein Center for Heart & Vascular Care

Montefiore Einstein Interventional Cardiology is dedicated to the proper diagnosis and nonsurgical treatment of coronary artery, valvular and congenital heart disease. Our Center for Heart and Vascular Care has been internationally renowned as a pioneering leader in cardiac care for the past 60+ years. In 1958, we developed the world’s first transvenous cardiac pacemaker. And in 1960, we performed the world’s first coronary artery bypass operation. Our Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension (CTEPH) Program is one of the few in the world performing pulmonary endarterectomy (PTE), an advanced surgical procedure to remove clots from the blood vessels in the lungs.  We continue to lead the way in the discovery of advanced treatments and protocols for coronary disease, housing one of the leading catheterization facilities in the United States.  We’re ranked in the top 1% of all hospitals in the nation for Cardiology, Heart & Vascular Surgery according to U.S. News & World Report .

Led by Dr. M. Azeem Latib, Medical Director of Structural Heart Interventions at Montefiore, the Section of Interventional Cardiology at Montefiore is recruiting a Board Certified/Board Eligible Interventional Cardiologist to join our collegial team. This is a junior faculty position, well suited to someone completing an interventional fellowship in 2027,  or within a few years of finishing training.  This is a coronary position in one of the busiest interventional programs in the country.  In 2025 we performed over 7000 invasive procedures, including more than 2800 PCIs, in the Bronx alone. The volume and case mix give a junior interventionalist the kind of experience that takes a decade to accumulate elsewhere.

The successful candidate will bring strong clinical skills in PCI, including transradial access, intracoronary imaging and physiology, and a desire to build expertise in complex PCI. Our senior faculty will mentor you through that progression, with a clear path to independent complex practice.  An interest in renal denervation and pulmonary thrombectomy is important as both programs are growing. Prior experience in these procedures is useful but not required; we will train you.

The section is a core site for numerous clinical trials in coronary intervention, and there is real opportunity to lead research and publish. Teaching Fellows and junior faculty is part of every faculty role here.

The position is system wide, with credentialing at all of our interventional sites including Moses, Weiler and Nyack. Call is predictable at 1:6 or 1:7 depending on the month.

In addition to a competitive salary of $350K-$450k w/ incentive opportunities that can drive up the total compensation, Montefiore offers a full suite of benefits, including health, dental, vision, LTD/STD, paid malpractice, and a 403(b)-retirement plan.

Interested candidates should send a cover letter and current CV, and three professional references to Senior Recruiter, William Carpini at [email protected] or call 914-806-0568 for additional information
