The engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to meet customer expectations for quality, delivery, and cost while driving continuous improvement and supporting new product introductions. Responsibilities

- Provide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support for air-cooled chiller production operations on 2nd shift.
- Lead the resolution of complex manufacturing issues involving mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, controls, and testing processes.
- Identify and eliminate manufacturing constraints that impact safety, product quality, delivery performance, or production cost.
- Support production teams in achieving operational performance objectives, including throughput, quality, and efficiency targets.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for mechanical assembly, electrical integration, and factory testing operations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, increase throughput, and improve overall manufacturing efficiency.
- Develop, maintain, and update manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flows, and standard operating procedures.
- Partner with Industrial Engineering on factory flow optimization, capacity planning, and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Troubleshoot electrical assemblies, control panels, wiring systems, sensors, actuators, and communication networks used in production.
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and controls documentation to support assembly, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
- Support root cause investigations related to electrical, controls, and software-related production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes for electrical assembly and test operations to ensure consistency and reliability.
- Troubleshoot mechanical assembly issues involving refrigeration systems, piping, structural assemblies, and electromechanical components.
- Support process improvements related to assembly methods, tooling, fixtures, and material presentation to operators.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering to improve manufacturability, reduce complexity, and increase assembly efficiency.
- Support new product launches through process development, production readiness activities, and manufacturing validation.
- Participate in design reviews and provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback to ensure products are optimized for production.
- Ensure manufacturing processes are capable of meeting safety, quality, delivery, and cost requirements before product launch.
- Contribute to the planning of layout for assembly and materials handling to optimize factory flow and production efficiency.
- Adapt machine or equipment designs to factory and production conditions to improve performance and ease of use.
- Plan sequences of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tools, equipment, and other functions that affect product performance.
