Team/Role Overview

The Fund Accounting Intermediate Analyst is an intermediate-level position responsible for participating in a variety of fund valuation and reconciliation activities in coordination with the Operations - Transaction Services team. The overall objective of this role is to perform detailed analysis, conduct research, resolve issues, and process data entries to ensure the accuracy and integrity of fund accounting records. The successful candidate will be a critical part of the Cash Reconciliation team, responsible for detailed transaction analysis, discrepancy investigation, and collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.

Responsibilities :

The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

1. Reconciliation & Transaction Analysis:

- Perform detailed analysis and reconciliation of cash and asset transactions, meticulously identifying, investigating, and resolving any discrepancies.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments, front office teams, and external parties (e.g., custodians, counterparties) to resolve transaction breaks or data entry issues.
- Process and validate data entries to ensure the accuracy and completeness of fund records.

2. Problem Resolution & Analysis:

- Monitor daily operational activities for accuracy and timeliness, ensuring strict adherence to established procedures, internal controls, and data integrity standards.
- Apply analytical skills to investigate and resolve complex issues, providing recommendations to leadership for process improvements.
- Monitor for errors to minimize risk, understand procedural requirements, and apply sound judgment in decision-making.

3. Stakeholder & Client Support:

- Provide high-quality support for internal and external customer requests, interacting professionally with various departments.

- Assist in client onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition.

- Ensure all issues or potential issues that could negatively impact the department are escalated appropriately and in a timely manner.

4. Risk, Control & Governance:

- Apply foundational knowledge of fund accounting to daily tasks, appropriately assessing risk in all business decisions.
- Demonstrate particular consideration for the firm's reputation and the safeguarding of Citigroup, its clients, and its assets.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to company policy and applying sound ethical judgment in all activities.

Qualifications :

- 2-5 years of relevant experience in Fund Accounting, Financial Services Operations, or a related field.
- A foundational understanding of fund accounting principles, cash reconciliation processes, and the lifecycle of various financial instruments is required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve issues effectively and with attention to detail.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive and results-oriented mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proven ability to manage concurrent tasks and projects in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
