About this role
For more than 40 years, Accelya has been the industry’s partner for change, simplifying airline financial and commercial processes and empowering the air transport community to take better control of the future. Whether partnering with IATA on industry-wide initiatives or enabling digital transformation to simplify airline processes, Accelya drives the airline industry forward and proudly puts control back in the hands of airlines so they can move further, faster.
We are looking for a Software Engineer – AI Test Automation to join the team developing AiroQ, an AI-powered platform designed to automatically generate executable test cases for airline distribution APIs.
AiroQ generates test scenarios for IATA NDC APIs, producing tests that can be executed through SoapUI and integrated into modern engineering and QA workflows. The platform can be accessed through AI development assistants such as Claude Code, Kiro, and Windsurf using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), as well as through REST APIs.
The ideal candidate is a strong TypeScript/Node.js engineer with experience building APIs and cloud-native applications on AWS. Experience with API testing, XML/SOAP, AI-assisted development, or airline/NDC technology is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain backend services for the AiroQ platform using TypeScript and Node.js.
* Build and maintain MCP servers and REST APIs used by AI assistants and external applications.
* Develop capabilities that automatically generate executable API test cases and test data.
* Implement API contracts, schemas, and runtime validation using OpenAPI and Zod.
* Build integrations with AI development tools and assistants through the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
* Develop and maintain support for IATA NDC 17.2 and 24.1 API workflows.
* Generate and validate XML/SOAP requests and responses for NDC testing.
* Develop automated validations using XPath, Groovy, and SoapUI.
* Design and maintain AWS-based services using Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, ECS Fargate, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, Cognito, and CloudWatch.
* Implement secure authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, JWT, and Amazon Cognito.
* Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using AWS CloudFormation.
* Implement logging, monitoring, error handling, and observability for production services.
* Collaborate with QA engineers, developers, architects, and product teams to translate business and API requirements into automated testing capabilities.
* Contribute to engineering standards, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, documentation, and platform reliability.
Required Qualifications
* Strong software development experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
* Experience designing and implementing REST APIs.
* Strong understanding of API contracts, schemas, validation, and error handling.
* Experience developing cloud-native applications on AWS.
* Experience with services such as Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, Cognito, and CloudWatch.
* Understanding of OAuth 2.0, JWT, and API authentication/authorization.
* Experience working with structured data formats including XML and JSON.
* Strong understanding of automated testing and software quality practices.
* Experience with Git-based development workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD.
* Ability to troubleshoot distributed applications and independently analyze complex technical problems.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and AI-assisted development tools.
* Experience building applications or tools using LLMs or generative AI.
* Experience with Amazon Bedrock or Bedrock AgentCore.
* Knowledge of IATA NDC, particularly versions 17.2 and 24.1.
* Experience with airline shopping, pricing, booking, servicing, or order-management APIs.
* Experience with SOAP, XML Schema/XSD, XPath, and SoapUI.
* Experience writing Groovy scripts for SoapUI automation and validation.
* Experience building test-generation frameworks or API testing platforms.
* Experience with Zod and OpenAPI.
* Experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly AWS CloudFormation.
