Position Overview

People & Business Partner

Supacolor | Hawthorne, CA (Los Angeles Area) Full-Time | On-Site | Exempt, Salaried

###

Build better people practices. Solve real business problems. Put AI to work.

Supacolor is looking for a hands-on People & Business Partner who enjoys building systems, solving problems, and helping a business operate at its best. This is more than a traditional HR generalist role. You'll partner directly with site leadership, shape HR programs and policies, support a fast-moving production environment, and use AI to make everyday work smarter and more efficient.

You'll have the opportunity to build processes from the ground up, turn operational data into meaningful insights, and influence how our U.S. facilities work. If you're curious, practical, comfortable with change, and excited to expand your skills beyond a single discipline, this role offers room to make a real impact.

This position requires an on-site presence at our Hawthorne, California facility in the Los Angeles area. It is not a remote or hybrid role.

###

What you'll do

- Partner with leadership: Work alongside site leaders and supervisors to solve people and operational challenges, strengthen performance, and address issues before they escalate.

- Put AI to work: Use AI for research, drafting, analysis, summaries, and routine communications. Identify opportunities to streamline repetitive work while protecting confidential employee information.

- Build HR programs and processes: Create practical policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures that support consistent operations across our California and Georgia facilities.

- Manage multi-state compliance: Help ensure HR practices align with applicable California and Georgia employment laws, required documentation, postings, and filings.

- Own HR systems and reporting: Maintain HRIS and learning management systems, ensure data accuracy, and develop reporting that helps leaders make informed decisions.

- Support the employee lifecycle: Coordinate onboarding, employee records, leave administration, employee relations, feedback, and offboarding.

- Coordinate training and claims: Support required and role-specific training, track completion, and coordinate documentation for workers' compensation, unemployment, and legal matters.

- Turn information into action: Translate what's happening on the production floor into clear reports, KPIs, and recommendations leaders can use.

- Keep business moving: Manage incoming requests, coordinate with external partners and suppliers, and ensure issues are appropriately handled, routed, or escalated.

###

What you'll bring

Required

- At least five years of professional work experience.

- Practical knowledge of AI, with specific examples of how you've used it to improve your work.

- Curiosity, sound judgment, and a willingness to learn beyond your current area of expertise.

- A proactive, solutions-oriented approach and the ability to work effectively with both frontline employees and senior leaders.

Preferred

- Human resources experience, including exposure to employment compliance and employee relations.

- Familiarity with California employment law; knowledge of Georgia requirements is a plus.

- Hands-on experience administering HRIS and learning management systems.

- Experience in manufacturing or another operational environment, particularly at a company with more than 50 employees.

- A college degree.

###

Why this opportunity?

- Build, don't just maintain: Create programs, processes, and systems that make a lasting difference.

- Work directly with leadership: Have a voice in solving business challenges and improving operations.

- Make AI practical: Move beyond experimentation and implement tools that save time and improve outcomes.

- Keep growing: Expand your knowledge across HR, compliance, technology, reporting, and business operations.

###

The work environment

You'll work on-site in a production facility where collaboration with employees and supervisors is essential. The environment includes exposure to moving mechanical equipment and typically moderate noise levels. Reasonable accommodations are available to support qualified individuals in performing the essential functions of the role.

Ready to build something meaningful?

If you're an adaptable problem-solver who combines people skills, operational thinking, and an interest in using AI to work smarter, we'd love to hear from you.
