About this role

We are looking for a Factory Software Support Engineer for the manufacturing and remanufacturing lines in Tilburg. Support is the job. You are on the floor and on the queue: you take line issues, reproduce them, fix or mitigate them, and close the loop with operations so production can continue.

You also execute setups on the lines: bringing stations and factory software into a known-good state, applying configuration, and validating that the line can run. A smaller part of the role is coding deliverables in C#, with enough Go affinity to read, follow, and contribute in that codebase when the fix or setup needs it.

You will extract and present facts from relational databases (SQL) and from APIs: what happened, which unit or station, which payload, which error. That is how you brief the line, developers, and the next person on shift.

This is a fast-paced factory role, not a desk-only ticket job. You will take on-call during night hours on a 24/5 schedule. Feature work and large projects are not the primary function; they show up as small, targeted coding when support or a setup needs it.

- Own factory software support for manufacturing and remanufacturing lines in Tilburg: intake, reproduce, mitigate or fix, verify on the line, and hand off a clear record.
- Respond to line-down and degraded software issues under time pressure, and stay with the issue until the line can run or a named owner has it.
- Execute setups on the lines: configuration, station bring-up, validation, and a controlled return to production.
- Use SQL against relational databases and API calls to extract, check, and present what the systems actually did, so stakeholders get facts rather than guesses.
- Read, debug, and make small C# changes when a support case or setup needs a coding deliverable. Use Go with enough affinity to follow and contribute in Go services when that is the path to a fix.
- Work with developers and owners of MES, WMS, equipment, and other factory systems to isolate whether the fault is ours, theirs, or the contract between them.
- Keep runbooks, setup notes, and incident write-ups current so the next shift does not start from zero.
- Participate in 24/5 on-call, including night hours, and follow through on anything that broke while you were on shift.
- Feed recurring failures back to the team as a short, ranked list of what should be hardened next. Do not turn the role into a project backlog owner

- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience supporting production software.
- Proven experience supporting software in a factory, production, or other high-availability operational environment.
- Comfortable on a fast-paced manufacturing or remanufacturing floor, including line-down situations and incomplete information.
- Proficiency in C# for reading, debugging, and delivering small production changes.
- Good affinity with Go: able to read, debug, and contribute without needing to be a Go specialist.
- Able to extract and present information from relational databases using SQL, and from systems via API calls.
- Clear English, written and spoken, including incident notes and short briefings for non-engineering stakeholders. Dutch is a plus.
- Willing and able to take on-call during night hours on a 24/5 schedule.
- Direct experience on manufacturing or remanufacturing lines, MES, WMS, equipment interfaces, or shop-floor data flows.
- Experience executing station or line software setups, not only ticket handling.
- Familiarity with logging, metrics, and tracing so you can find a failure without guessing.
- Experience writing short C# or Go fixes that survive production, including basic tests and a safe rollout.
- Prior on-call for factory or production system
