About JETSET Pilates Franchising
At JETSET Pilates Franchising, we pioneer a unique franchise model in the fitness industry, offering Modern Pilates classes and a curated selection of fitness-related products. Our business model is centered on establishing a strong brand image, cultivating exceptional relationships with franchisees, and delivering outstanding client services. We operate in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment where adaptability and innovation are crucial for success.
Position Overview
The Director, Field Deployment leads JETSET’s team of launch managers: a dynamic, highly mobile group that provides hands-on, on-site support anywhere in the franchise network where a prolonged franchisor presence is needed to set franchisees and studios up for success.
This leader owns the people, the deployment plan, and the quality of on-site execution. The role ensures the right launch manager is in the right studio, at the right time, with a clear scope, defined objectives, and a documented handoff when the work is complete.
This role is a contributing partner to the Performance Acceleration Program. It does not own the program, its assessment framework, or its improvement plans. Instead, it provides the on-site execution capacity the program relies on, deploying launch managers to deliver retraining and relaunch support as scoped by the DFO and program leadership.
Types of Deployments
• New Studio Launches: On-site readiness verification and support during the week leading up to preview classes through initial opening.
• Performance Acceleration Program Support: On-site retraining, relaunch preparation, and operational coaching for studios enrolled in the program.
• Studio Ownership Transfers: On-site support during a change of ownership to protect continuity for clients, staff, and studio operations.
• Other Extended On-Site Needs: Any situation where sustained franchisor presence is needed to stabilize operations or support studio performance, as approved by Franchise Operations leadership.
Key Responsibilities
1) Launch Manager Team Leadership
• Directly manage the launch manager team, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance accountability, and career development.
• Build a versatile team that can move confidently between launches, retraining, ownership transfers, and other on-site assignments.
• Set clear standards for how launch managers show up on site: preparation, communication with owners, daily reporting, and professionalism.
• Observe launch managers in the field regularly and provide direct feedback to raise the quality and consistency of on-site support.
• Ensure launch managers are fully trained on current JETSET operating standards, systems, playbooks, and brand expectations.
2) Deployment Planning & Capacity Management
• Own a single deployment calendar covering all scheduled launches, approved retraining assignments, ownership transfers, and other on-site requests.
• Receive and evaluate deployment requests from DFOs, NSO/Development, and Franchise Operations leadership.
• Agree on the scope, objectives, timing, duration, and success measures for each deployment with the requesting leader before assigning resources.
• Match launch managers to assignments based on skill set, studio needs, geography, and workload.
• Balance competing requests against scheduled launch commitments and escalate capacity conflicts to the VP of Operations for prioritization.
• Forecast team capacity against the opening pipeline and expected field-support demand, and recommend staffing changes as the network scales.
• Manage travel planning and deployment budgets with discipline.
3) New Studio Launch Support
• Own the launch-week portion of operational readiness, including the pre-launch checklist, with clear requirements, owners, deadlines, and evidence of completion.
• Begin readiness reviews before on-site arrival so the final week is focused on execution, verification, and team preparation.
• Verify readiness across staffing and training completion, instructor coverage, class schedules, booking and payment systems, equipment and supplies, brand presentation, client communications, and daily operating procedures.
• Lead practice sessions and client-journey rehearsals with studio teams, coordinating with Product & Talent to confirm class-delivery readiness.
• Run daily readiness reviews during launch week with one action plan and clear ownership for unresolved items.
• Escalate critical gaps and recommend delaying preview classes when required standards are not met.
• Deliver a documented readiness recommendation to the designated opening approver.
• Support the studio through initial preview classes and complete a documented handoff to the assigned Franchise Business Manager (FBM).
4) Performance Acceleration Program Support
• Serve as the deployment arm of the Performance Acceleration Program, partnering with the Sr. Director, Franchise Performance Acceleration and DFOs.
• Receive approved deployment requests that follow the DFO’s studio assessment and Performance Improvement Plan.
• Direct launch managers delivering on-site retraining, relaunch preparation, operational coaching, and execution support aligned to the studio’s plan.
• Reinforce owner commitments agreed in the Performance Improvement Plan while the team is on site.
• Report deployment progress, observations, and outstanding actions to the DFO and program leadership.
• Return ongoing follow-through to the DFO at the conclusion of each deployment, with clear recommendations and ownership.
5) Studio Ownership Transfer Support
• Coordinate with Franchise Development, the DFO, and the assigned FBM on transfer timelines and on-site support needs.
• Deploy launch managers to support the incoming owner through the transition, including systems access, operating routines, staff continuity, and client communications.
• Assess the studio against JETSET operating standards at transfer and document gaps that need to be addressed by the new owner.
• Train or retrain studio staff as needed to ensure a smooth experience for clients during the change in ownership.
• Complete a documented handoff to the FBM with clear priorities for the new owner’s first 90 days.
6) Other Extended On-Site Support
• Deploy launch managers for other situations requiring sustained franchisor presence, such as studio manager turnover, major system changes, reopening after closure, or operational stabilization.
• Define scope, duration, and exit criteria with the requesting leader for every non-standard deployment.
7) Field Insights & Continuous Improvement
• Run retrospectives after deployments and capture recurring issues, risks, and best practices.
• Share field insights with the Sr. Director, Franchise Performance Acceleration, DFOs, Training, and NSO to inform playbooks, checklists, and training.
• Maintain and improve the team’s own deployment tools: launch checklists, on-site agendas, daily reports, and handoff templates.
What You Need to Be Successful
• Strong planning and scheduling skills, with the ability to balance competing requests and changing priorities across a growing network
• Ability to give clear direction for each on-site assignment, including scope, goals and success measures, and to hold the team to them
• Strong partnership skills, working comfortably with DFOs, FBMs, NSO, Franchise Development, Training and Product & Talent without direct authority over them
• Comfort with studio systems and data, such as Mindbody or similar booking and payment platforms, checklists, scorecards and simple reporting
• Excellent written communication for daily on-site reports, readiness recommendations and handoffs
• Strong sales and interpersonal skills
