The A.C.Coy Company has an immediate opening for a Geotechnical Engineer for a full time role.
Responsibilities
Oversee and perform analysis and design of various geotechnical projects
- Assist in the planning of geotechnical investigations
- Coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work
- Occasionally perform lab technician duties, including on-site sampling and drilling inspection
- Evaluate field sampling data and direct adjustments if necessary
- Interpret and evaluate the results of the laboratory and field data generated for inclusion in written reports
- Perform mathematical calculations and engineering formulas
- Serve as a technical advisor and mentor to lab technicians and other project team members
Qualifications
Education Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Geoscience
Experience Required:
- Five or more years of experience in the geotechnical engineering field
- A valid drivers’ license and daily access to a motor vehicle
- Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities, including sustained walking, bending, twisting, standing, reaching, and performing medium to heavy work, including lifting 40 or more pounds
- Experience with Slide, PYWall, LPile, and gINT
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word and Excel- entering, analyzing, and testing of data
- Good understanding of the various, usual soil and material ASTM tests performed for the transportation industry
- Flexibility to accommodate extended travel, including overnights, if required
Preferred:
- Professional Engineering License in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or ability to obtain within 60 days
- Experience with OpenRoads Designer, Civil 3D, ProjectWise
