About this role
### Job Title
Tax & Compliance Specialist
Job Description
Are you an accounting professional who enjoys working at the intersection of finance, tax and compliance? Do you want to develop your career in an international environment where no two days are the same?
As a Tax & Compliance Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance across multiple entities within the EMEA region. You will own a portfolio of countries, work closely with stakeholders across Finance, Payroll, Tax and external auditors, and contribute to month-end closings, tax filings and statutory compliance activities.
This is a dynamic role that combines accounting, tax and stakeholder management, offering excellent opportunities to broaden your expertise and grow within Vanderlande's Finance organization.
What you will do
As a Tax & Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for a portfolio of legal entities across several EMEA countries. Together with your colleagues, you will ensure that all tax, payroll accounting and compliance activities are completed accurately and on time.
Your responsibilities include:
- Executing month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities.
- Preparing and reviewing payroll accounting entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Performing analytical reviews and investigating discrepancies.
- Supporting VAT, Corporate Income Tax and other tax compliance activities.
- Preparing tax calculations, filings and supporting documentation.
- Liaising with tax authorities, external advisors and auditors.
- Supporting statutory audits and coordinating audit requests.
- Monitoring deadlines and ensuring compliance requirements are met.
- Acting as a trusted point of contact for your assigned entities and stakeholders.
- Identifying opportunities to improve and simplify processes.
This role offers a unique combination of accounting and tax activities. While transactional processing is handled by our colleagues in India, you will focus on value-adding activities such as analysis, reviews, compliance and stakeholder management.
About the team
You will join the FSSC Tax & Compliance EMEA team, consisting of approximately 20 colleagues across Europe. The team is currently evolving and expanding, creating an exciting opportunity to help shape a newly formed organization and ways of working.
Based primarily in the Netherlands, the team works closely with colleagues in Germany, Spain and India to support more than 30 entities across the EMEA region. The environment is highly international and multicultural, where collaboration and knowledge sharing are key.
What you bring
You enjoy working in a dynamic environment with recurring deadlines and a broad range of responsibilities. You are analytical, structured and comfortable taking ownership of your own portfolio of entities.
You also bring:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Economics, Tax, Business Administration or a related field.
- Approximately 3+ years of relevant experience in accounting, tax, audit or financial reporting.
- Experience with month-end closing activities and balance sheet reconciliations.
- A solid understanding of financial accounting principles and IFRS.
- Experience with VAT and tax-related processes is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- The confidence to challenge, investigate and ask questions.
- A proactive mindset and ownership mentality.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
Experience gained within an audit firm (e.g. PwC, EY, Deloitte or KPMG) or in a tax/accounting-focused finance role is considered a strong advantage.
What we offer
At Vanderlande, you will join a global market leader and become part of a large international Finance community. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build a broad foundation in accounting, tax and compliance while working with stakeholders across multiple countries.
This position offers a competitive salary range of € 4.400 to € 5.200 gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance).
