About this role

About Us

At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.

About the Role

Our Lending Services team brings together people from diverse professional and personal backgrounds - reflecting the customers we support. You’ll work across a varied agribusiness portfolio, from small family-run cropping operations to sophisticated wine and fishing businesses with global operations, helping customers navigate complex situations.

Alongside experienced banking, credit, risk and legal professionals, you’ll assist and contribute to the Agribusiness team in upholding the Lending Services Purpose and Strategic Pillars - Customer Experience, Staff Experience, Trusted Advisor and Well Managed while you broaden your capabilities, build a strong internal network and develop into a well-rounded banker.

Role Type: Permanent

Role Location: 833 Collins Street, Docklands Victoria 3008 or Perth or Adelaide.

Work Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)

What will your day look like?

As an Assistant Manager, Lending Services, you will:

- Work closely with customers, Relationship Managers and key stakeholders to help deliver practical, balanced business outcomes.

- Analyse financial information and contribute to clear, well-reasoned credit submissions and customer strategies.

- Build capability across credit writing, risk assessment, financial analysis and strategic decision-making.

- Gain exposure to complex lending structures and a diverse range of higher-risk customer scenarios.

- Develop an understanding of restructuring, turnaround and insolvency-related matters.

- Learn from experienced banking, credit, risk and legal professionals while building a broader internal network.

- Strengthen your understanding of the full customer lifecycle — from supporting viable businesses through periods of challenge to helping manage respectful and sustainable outcomes.

- Contribute to a collaborative, customer-focused and well-managed team environment.

This is a relationship-based role without individual sales targets, allowing you to focus on understanding customers, solving complex problems and developing high-value banking skills.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

- Experience in business banking, commercial banking, credit analysis or a related financial services environment. Agribusiness banking experience is highly regarded, but not essential.

- Strong commercial curiosity and the ability to interpret financial information, identify key risks and form sound conclusions.

- A proactive, collaborative approach and a willingness to contribute ideas, challenge constructively and support positive customer outcomes.

- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with an interest in further developing your credit writing and stakeholder engagement capability.

- Sound judgement, attention to detail and a commitment to managing risk responsibly.

- A growth mindset and genuine desire to broaden your banking experience across relationship management, credit, financial analysis, restructuring and insolvency.

- A willingness to build your knowledge of agribusiness and relevant industry trends with support from experienced colleagues.

You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills. At ANZ a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we’d love to hear from you.

So why join us?

From the moment you join ANZ, you'll be doing meaningful work that will shape a world where people and communities thrive.
